Rochelle Frank and Joan Davidson have written an excellent review of the literature suggesting that therapy selection based on diagnosis alone is inadequate and proposing a solution that addresses the reality we all experience - clients with multiple problems, problems that cross the boundaries of traditional psychiatric diagnosis. In addition, they have given very helpful and practical guidance on how to incorporate transdiagnostic treatment planning into a process of engagement (and informed consent) with a client that establishes a strong foundation for success. This book should be read by every thoughtful clinical psychologist or therapist.
