The consistency is perfect for those first few teeth as well as molars for teething. It bends completely in half (I'm tough when it comes to testing these things to avoid choking hazards) and springs right back into shape. We've had these for 4 months now and there are no chunks missing or cracks at all, which says a lot when an older child is chomping on it daily! I'll be buying more for the little baby when he's ready, they're that good.
