I purchased the 36K BTU unit and it has been working awesome so far. I do usually leave it on turbo mode though when it climbs into the 90s to keep the heat down. So far it has been working great and the app is also pretty nice for remote control/setting schedules. I have not tried the heat pump yet but from watching videos online it seems like it would work well when it gets cold too.For installation of the 36K BTU one I would definitely recommend 2 people. The outside compressor is pretty heavy (100-120lbs) and the inside head(20-30lbs) depending on where you are mounting it will be awkward to lift and get the line set through the whole safely. I'd recommend watching a few videos on YouTube for MR Cool 36K DIY along with how to wire a disconnect/breaker panel if you plan on doing all this yourself.To be successful and wire it yourself you will need for the 36K BTU:1. 40 AMP double pole breaker for specific breaker type(Siemens, Square-D, etc)2. 8/2 UFB outdoor wire---I used 40 feet of it3. 60 AMP Non-Fused AC Disconnect(Any brand)4. 3/4 in Liquid Tight flexible electrical conduit-- I used 25ft5. 3/4 inch clamps for above6. Dremel/Saw or some sort of cutoff tool for cutting the pipe for the line set that goes through the wall7. Wire Strippers...I also used my bolt cutters to cut the line to length because it's way easier8. 3 1/2 in hole saw(any brand). I'd recommend using a high powered drill depending on how much you have to go through.9. 1 1/4 in drill bit(any brand) for running electrical through wall( I ran mine straight into the disconnect box and then from there to the actual AC)10. Some also need a 3/16 In. x 12 In drill bit(any brand) depending on if they are going through a lot of material for the 3.5 in hole. I didn't have much so didn't need it.11. I bought a little more pipe insulation as it seemed some of it wasn't quite long enough.12. I think that's most of the list to get you 99% thereIf you set a day to do it you should be able to bust it out with someone otherwise I'd do it in chunks. Lastly the 8 gauge wire is a pain to get into the small lugs in the ac unit. I'd recommend getting some ring lugs for the wire or put 3 strands on each side of the screw and really push down hard. It is pretty small to get in there though so I wasn't sure if the ring wire terminals would work. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very pleased. Energy efficiency numbers should be plainly posted though. *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 11, 2020* It was easy to install and it can freeze me out of my 30x30x12 poorly insulated shop in 98 degree houston humid heat. I didn't think to look up the energy efficiency of this unit before I bought it, turns out it's not very efficient. But I don't really care. This was my only option for DIY and having an efficient system installed by a pro would have costed 3x as much. It will take years for the energy costs to catch up to the difference in installation costs and by then I plan to have 8" thick of insulation in here. It will barely have to run to maintain temperature. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ultra easy to install *by K***X on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 28, 2019* Installed this on a time crunch to be available in our store on Mackinac Island before the 4th of July crowds arrived.I can install the standard model myself as well, but selected the DIY model for an extra cost because I needed to install this _FAST_. The seller was incredible and shipped it blazing fast too. Everything worked out, and this unit is amazing.You can barely hear either the indoor unit OR the outdoor unit. It removes a steady trickle of water that on the island filled up half of a typical party cup in less than a minute.
