It does the job!
I had one of these years ago but it got lost when moving house. So many times I reseal biscuits, pasta, crisps, cereal, etc by folding down the packaging and putting a clothes peg on it!I found the bag seal spring clips too narrow so they kept popping off, and the plastic hinge style clips wouldn't fit round the folded bag very well and therefore wouldn't clip together. In theory, these are great - just press and slide the sealer across your plastic packaging and it melts the plastic to create a new seal. In practice, this is OK, once you've worked out the thickness of the plastic. There are 3 settings on here ranging from thinner plastic bags to the thicker ones (think laminating sheets here, depending on the microns of the sheet, you turn your laminator up or down so as to warm it enough to seal but not melt)There's also a built in cutter which you use just by turning the button - my first few attempts were very poor. I started by cutting the bag because I turned the button the wrong way, then it was too hot, melted and got stuck. Too cold and didn't seal. I'm kindve used to it now though!Magnetic base so you can stick it to your fridge and also has a hanging loop if you prefer. Flat based if you just want to leave it on your worktop..My old sealer used batteries, but as most things in the modern world now, this is rechargeable from a supplied USB lead - you will need a plug though. It's been used frequently since its first charge and I haven't had to charge it a second time yet, so I can't comment on longevity of the battery but as its not something you would use all the time you could just plug in between uses. I tend to charge my USB products when I go to bed, because I can't use them while I'm sleeping!! Easy to use and store :)

Replaces all my rubber bands and plactic snap-ons
I am always tying up half empty small plastic bags (biscuits, crisps, etc.) - I use rubber bands or those plastic snap-ons but I always seem to run out of those. This sealer is much better than rubber bands as the opening can be fully sealed and very quickly too. I no longer need to hunt for rubber bands - this one has a small tag that allows me to hook it in a convenient location in my kitchen. I have sealed around a couple of dozen bags and the battery is yet to run out - very impressed.

Not sure
I tried to use this to seal cat food packets and got the impression a mini hair straightener that I already own could get the same affect. Doesn't really seal it rather just heat presses it togethor, don't know how long the compression will lasts however and how well it keeps air and bacteria out.

DCMEKA Rechargeable Heat Sealer, Portable Hand Held Plastic Bag Sealer
The Cutter Of The Machine Works Well, But I Found The Heat Sealer Very Difficult To Come To Grips With. Perhaps With A Little More Practice I Will Get The Hang Of It..

So far so good!
I bought this to seal opened pages, but the cutting knife of the unit was interfering and causing problems when sealing as in most of the times it will tear part of bag during sealing! I had to remove the knife, and now the sealing is working great without any problems.

Waste of your money
Absolutely rubbish waste of money and should never be sold to customers. I am only getting this thing five-star because that is the only way people know that they are wasting their money to buy this nonsense. It’s crap
