**Q: Is there someplace to find examples of code for using with this kit.  Are any special libraries needed?**
A: I also would like to find this out

**Q: Could i use this setup to run 3a nema 23 motors if i upgraded the drivers?**
A: It can't drive the 3A nema23 motor,it can drive current below 2.5A. And it is a stepper motor that can only drive 2-phase 4-wire.
