I had never tried mastic before, and I have never been a gum chewer, even as a kid, but I thought it might be good to exercise the jaw muscles a bit on this natural resin, with its natural, unsweetened flavor. I really liked the product, and also the seller (Greek Product), who sent me a free Greek cookie with my very small order just to try (and which was very nice). The mastic is crystalized, so it breaks when you chew it at first, but then immediately turns into a gum that is tougher than artificial gum, and has a very clean taste to it (nothing that bites back). I have chewed one or two pieces at a time, as they are small. An interesting surprise about mastic is that if you do set it aside for a few minutes (which I did, for a cough drop), it re-crystalizes, and ends up breaking up when you begin to chew it again, and then softens up again. Very interesting experience, and mastic is supposed to be beneficial in that it is antiseptic, too. I will purchase this again, and maybe look for it in a small bag or cardboard box from this same seller, and reuse the metal box it came in. Chios Mastiha Medium Tears 20gr - Xios Mastic (METAL BOX)

Very disappointed. I spent over $12 for a thimble-full of absolutely tasteless bits of plastic. And not eligible for return or refund. Avoid this seller!

This stuff works great as chewing gum. It has a nice flavor that's lasts as long as you can chew. The taste at first is not great but after a minute it changes. You need to play around with the softer pieces and the harder pieces to get a good chewable consistency. I will absolutely be buy it again! Do your research on what is in the commercial chewing gums and then this natural and unusual flavor will taste way better!
