Doesn't taste like plastic
Most important for me was that it didn't add any plastic flavor and it does not. Good size too. Perfect for a 1/2 day hike

Best quality bladder, hosing, and most puncture resistant on the market
Best quality bladder, hosing, and most puncture resistant on the market - not so good is the handle and mouth piece can get pulled off by a branch (recommend super gluing on). Bladder is biggest on market in this segment; so it is difficult to fit in most hip sacks; i had to really massage it into the USWE hip sack and it is not the easiest thing to do. I fear continual harsh push in and pull outs on the bladder over time will really wear it down or create a leak.

Great!
This thing is great. I roller skate outside and it's hot. My little water bottle wasn't cutting it, and I didn't want a backpack. I used this and bought a large waist pack. It's great. The water in the straw gets hot pretty fast, but in the pouch it's pretty cool. I want to buy the insulator, but just haven't yet.

better than camelback
Excellent bladder, I use it with my motorcycle jacket and it fits perfect, holds enough water for a commute trip, the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with a tube insulator built in already like other compatible products at almost the same price

it sorta works?
First, none of the current waist/fanny packs really advert as a hydration pack, so there is that. Second, all these things come with a magnetic clip meant for a chest strap. So about half an inch wide. Whereas NONE of the fanny packs I own have such a strap. So if your thinking of putting the business end of this somewhere other than your pocket/belt/waistband yeyou are going to have to get creative.Other than that, this works, again, ok. 70 ounces won't get you far. Maybe a morning workout. I use it on a mountainsmith Day/Tour pack. It works ok for about half a day (less if dehydrated from previous day), then you either start in on your water bottles, or you unpack most of your bag to refill this thing. It's a nice idea for a pack that currently doesn't really exist.

Busted after 3 uses
Got my first one, used it 4 times and the area around where the hose connects to the bladder blew out. I got it replaced through amazon, used the new one 3 times and the same thing happened. We didn't overfill it, followed all directions. I can't even return it because amazon says its past my return date. Complete waste of money. Our original platypus bladders are still going strong after years of use so I'm really sad to see the quality of this generation bladder to be so horrible.

If you want to carry water on your hips, this is it!
I had purchased a waistband water carrier a few years ago and needed a replacement bladder. This one fits and works well. Carrying water on your hips is great for a cyclist as well as a hiker.

LEAKED!
Obviously average to clean. tasted fine on first fill threw a Sawyer mini filter in line. BUT went south quick. Not nice and flexible plastic like the hydrapacks. And with the first one little fill, put the platypus into a Dakine back pack with a separate lumbar area for a bladder, and it sprung a bad leak in the thicker plastic beside the quick connect for the hose. Looking at it now, cheaply made, not flexible like the hydrapacks. would never buy again!
