Nice knife.
This is a cool little knife. The mag stick works great. The knife came sharp, but added a polished edge, it's razor sharp. The sheath is ok, the double strap keeps the knife well. I added a small piece of plastic inside to keep from poking through the back. This knife can filet fish, slice duck, cut or pop open a can, split or carve wood, start a fire. I've done all of those, with the hole, I'm sure you could tie string to and fish with in a survival situation. Perfect piece of steel to make your companion for camping, hiking, or hunting.

Awesome Survival Type Knife!
These are great survival type knives, especially for the low price. I ordered three of these, and will be giving two to my camping buddies...The knife is sharp, and looks well made, they even have the DAX Industries logo etched on the blade. The black nylon shealth is sturdy, and has a loop to attach to your belt. The upper handle of the knife is wound with bright orange cord, for gripping and or survival purposes. Although I've yet to use the magnesium fire starter strike, it looks well built.Highly Recommend!

Very good affordable knife, cheap paracord
Pros:- Sharp looking knife, no pun intended. I love the look of this knife. Blade is sharp out of the box and it took little effort to make it even sharper.- Very affordable for a very good, not great, quality set.- Sheath is thick nylon, nothing too versatile but it does the job.Cons:- Paracord is cheap and the lanyard on the striker is junk, both are easy to fray if caught on a fingernail. I ended up replacing the cord with a higher quality one, though the better thicker gauge cord made it a little harder to snap the strap that holds the knife in the sheath.- The angled slot for the index finger would be better served if the inside corner was rounded a bit. I found it a little uncomfortable and I imagine it would be even more so if you were using it for an extended period cutting some wood.In short, I'm happy with the knife and I would purchase more for gifts. I understand keeping the costs down, but I can't imagine using better cord would drive the costs up that much more. Another thing that would be nice is if they put more holes in the handle area to allow for some more versatility when wrapping the cord. It's not a lot of surface area, but if you wanted to lash the blade to a stick more holes would be handy.

I'm going to buy another for my wife!!!!
This was a great knife and fire starter, especially for the price. The only thing I would change is the cord used for the handle. I like the color, but it is not paracord which I like for it's strength. I will probably order another for my wife as she's into all of the survival entities I am. I am going to re-wrap the handle with actual paracord so that the handle will have more bulk as I have big hands. My knife came to me very sharp as well!!!! It's one of the first knives I have bought that I won't have to sharpen right out of the box, as I like them shaving sharp.

Perfect knife for hunting, hiking or preppers....
I have to admit that I was reluctant to buy, because I didn't think I'd get too much for the money, but I love this knife. It's a perfect size, comes pre-sharpened and has the striking tool with it. It has a nice carrying case and a cord on the handle for other purposes perhaps in hiking or emergency situations. I love it and I'm so glad that I purchased.

... for general use during camping trips and I am pleased with my purchase
I ordered this knife for general use during camping trips and I am pleased with my purchase. I was able to start a fire using the flint starter bar and the knife survived my camping trips (it didn't break and I didn't cut myself using it). For at $10 product, I have no complaints and this is a great knife for general use. I do recommend sharpening the knife, but this is expected.

Not bad but some issues
Smaller than I thought but nice little knife at a good price. Handle “para cord” doesn’t feel right. I also don’t think that’s even real para cord. Will replace with wooden handle.

This knife fits comfortably in the hand and it works great with the ...
This blade came razor sharp. Literally shaving sharp. After one day camping, and using it to skin a squirrel, the paracord wrap fell off (which isn't really traditional paracord) and the blade is no longer sharp. After using a sharpening stone, the blade got back to razor sharp. After using it to baton one piece of oak, it lost its edge. This knife fits comfortably in the hand and it works great with the fire steel, but it won't hold an edge. I'd recommend getting another knife.
