The thing is such a value. Added it to my deck which is usually not usable after about 10 am when the sun peaks the house due to heat. This provides a perfect amount of shade. It’s been up over a year now and has withstood wind and rain without any issues. Easy to install. I do suggest choosing an size that’s about 12-20 inches shorter that what you need and get you some good turnbuckles at the hardware store. Also get some eye bolts and lots of S hooks to connect everything. Make sure to fully extend the turn buckles, hook everything up, and then start tightening down. You’ll have to tighten everything further after it rains for the first time.Don’t miss this great product.

We put this on our 20 x 12 deck last summer and it works great. It's not waterproof so the deck still gets wet but that's fine. It keeps us cool while at the pool and it shades the sliding glass door from the hot afternoon sun. I took it down over the winter and will be putting it back up this weekend. I bought a 10 foot pvc pipe that is 4 inches round I think. I put a round bowl like cap on one end and a flange on the other. I put it in the middle of the deck and the bowl end tents the sail because it seems to sag. Maybe I wasn't getting it tight enough but this worked and looks great. The flange end has screw holes so that I could screw it into the wood deck. Happy customer. Also, the material doesn't absorb water so it stays very light even when rained on.

This is an ok product and will be temporary until we can put up a more permanent structure. It is absolutely not water resistant so i had to zip tie a couple of tarps to put over the top if we want to be outside in the rain. It does keep the deck cool, which is great. It does the job- it isn't especially attractive and it will sag if it isn't extremely taut. Good enough for the money.

The first one I ordered arrived damaged. I contacted the seller and without hesitation they resent me a new one. Unfortunately I now need to resend to exchange for a different size as this is too big and should have gone with a 16x27 instead.Aside from that, the quality is great built tough and looks great once up. I will update this review once in able to send this one back and get the size I need. I trust the seller will help me out, they’ve been pretty awesome to work with so far.

Needed it earlier in the summer during the heatwave, but look forward to the next hot spell. After careful measurment, I ordered two of these because they were ideal for my southern exposure deck. I also had a local fence company weld me up a couple of 9 foot galvanized fence posts with custom crosspieces on the top and special holes drilled in them so that I could bolt them to my existing deck railing. That, along with the recommended mounting hardware that is often suggested when ordering these shade sails from Amazon and I had it up in no time. I wish it was waterproof, but no matter. We usually don't sit outside when it's raining because it's usually too cool for us then. Our 20' x 13' sail provides adequate shade for most of our dining room and kitchen windows which are adjacent to the deck. I mounted the brackets about 9' up from the deck on the side of the house and attacked them to the top of my custom railing posts at a height of about 8 feet. That leaves plenty of clearance for full view out both windows while still providing shade to most of the kitchen and dining room and a good portion of the deck. It was a little inconvenient that the seller would not ship this item to Alaska, and it cost me a little extra to have it mailed from my parents home out-of state, but I'm still happy to have it. The custom welded fence posts were a bit pricey too, but I believe they are necessary so that the sail will hold up in moderate breezes. I'll definitely take it down during storms though, so it doesn't shred.

I bought the 20 x 13 size in tan from Amazon to be used as a screen wall on my pavilion. The sun gets really hot in the afternoon here in Texas and needed something wind could travel through. I was really excited to see the quality of this product, though was some what worried about installing after the negative comments, but ours went up beautifully and I can adjust it according to suns position! we put ours up and fixed it to work like a shower curtain and if I want it to stay at bottom I have two 5 gallon buckets with eye hooks to bolt it down. as for durability ive not had it long enough but will update later.

After 7 years of the Florida sun, wind and rain the buckle finally torn off. This is the best shade money can buy. Was so happy I could order it again with a click of a button. New one came, hung it over the pool, looked up and WHAT, a big seam right down the middle. Why the seam?? The first one was one piece.

I ordered this shade because of the low price. FedEx delivered it to the wrong house and when I contacted the company to let them know that I had not received it, he was very friendly and helpful. When FedEx couldn't locate the original a replacement was sent right out. It is now above our patio and looks fantastic. Once I got it installed and tightened it has preformed beyond my expectations. We have already had a few nasty storms and the sail barely moves in high wind. I am very pleased with the product and the service!
