Spout does not allow for proper flow control for espresso drinks
Looks nice and is the size/volume I want, but two major problems for making milk-based espresso drinks: 1)the spout allows only “on / off” for pouring - if you pour high and moderately slow (a requirement for the early part of latte), milk goes everywhere; if you pour fast enough to control the milk’s direction to avoid spillage, the micro-foam is immediately lost to the cup (I.e. no latte art); 2)the spout does not go deep enough into the pitcher to show a proper fill level (and the spout’s shape is the cause of bad pours). This pitcher may be fine for other purposes but DO NOT BUY THIS PITCHER IF YOU CARE ABOUT MAKING A GOOD AND ATTRACTIVE LATTE.

Just what I needed
I was looking for a small frothing pitcher and this fits the bill. I like to make blended coffees at home and this works well for me. It pours so well that I also use it when I make pour-over coffee in my Chemex. The handle is comfortable to hold and stays cool. Although it is dishwasher safe I usually just wash it by hand so it will be ready if I make another coffee before I run the dishwasher (I place it upside down on the top of my espresso machine). One thing to consider when selecting this pitcher is the capacity: we don't use a lot of milk in our household so it tends to not be the freshest (not sour, just not super fresh) and I don't often get a lot of foam. Occasionally I'll get a batch of milk that foams like crazy and fills the pitcher to the very top. If you get a lot of foam and/or you like to add a lot of steamed milk to your coffee you may want to look for something larger.

High-quality heavy jug
I must admit that despite the fact that this Frieling Creamer/Frothing Pitcher is by far the highest quality and most aesthetically pleasing of the brewing/frothing jugs I bought, I do not actually use it much in practice. Unlike the other reviewers, I do not find it too small to froth the standard 100ml milk for one cappuccino, and if I can upload a photo of 100ml milk in this jug you will be able to see from the photo that there is plenty of space to froth that milk; but I think perhaps what causes me to reach for the BELLA 13886 Frothing Pitcher, Stainless Steel (128g) or the Espro Toroid 12 Oz Stainless Steel Milk Frothing Pitcher (159g) more often is that they are thinner steel, and I use the heat of the jug as a guide to tell me the milk is frothed enough. The Frieling jug weighs 187g according to my kitchen scales. But the Frieling is exceptionally beautiful and would make a lovely milk jug.Frothing jugs you might like to consider, that I use: BELLA 13886 Frothing Pitcher, Stainless Steel (weighs 128g; big enough for frothing 100ml milk for 1 cappuccino) Espro Toroid 12 Oz Stainless Steel Milk Frothing Pitcher (weighs 159g; big enough for frothing 100ml milk for 1 cappuccino) KRUPS XS5012 Stainless Steel Milk Frothing Pitcher, 12-ounce, Silver (weighs 149g; big enough for frothing 100ml milk for 1 cappuccino) Frieling Creamer/Frothing Pitcher (weighs 187g; big enough for frothing 100ml milk for 1 cappuccino) KRUPS XS5020 Stainless Steel Milk Frothing Pitcher, 20-ounce, Silver (weighs 192g; big enough for frothing 200ml milk for 2 cappuccinos) Espresso Supply Brew Pitcher, 8-Ounce (weighs 77g; too small for frothing milk but would be good for brewing a double-shot espresso)

Excellent design, perfect for cappuccino frothing
This is a solid and beautifully crafted pitcher. It has glossy steel on the outside (which doesn't come through well in the photos) and matte steel on the inside...looks GREAT.Highlights:- Feels very solid when you pick it up. The handle is stylized but comfortable to use and is solid so if you are doing latte art or precise pours you have a lot of control over the pitcher.- Perfect size for 1 or 2 cappuccinos, or 1 latte. This is a small frothing pitcher and I was looking for *EXACTLY* something this size to make 1-2 cappuccinos every morning....most pitchers are too big and as a result don't produce the right froth texture for small pours (you can't get the frothing tip deep enough in a big pitcher with a small milk pour). I know other reviewers have knocked the small size of the pitcher but that really is the buyer's fault since the product description clearly states the pitcher volume! (Also, I suspect folks may be horribly overfrothing their milk but that is whole other topic!)- This is a *much* nicer made product than frothing pitchers I saw at Bed Bath & Beyond, Bloomingdales, Macy's, etc. The finish is really excellent, edges are smooth, the lip is well designed for latte art, and the welding is top notch. It is a designer product rather than just a kitchen tool.Cons:- As with most frothing pitchers, there is no volumetric marking on the inside so you have to judge the amount of milk poured. I can't really complain about that because most pitchers don't have markings and it would, I guess, violate the minimalist design of the pitcher. Still, I'd like to be able to nail the exact amount of milk every day for my capps!

the size is perfect for one cup
As others have written in their reviews, the size is perfect for one cup, which is pretty much the reason I chose a 10oz over the 12oz. This is my first frothing pitcher and I'm glad having purchased it. The material absorbs a lot of heat during the frothing process, but doesn't seem to be at the expense of the froth. I was using a 1-cup Anchor Hocking measuring cup before switching to the Frieling and the froth from using the Frieling is definitely hotter and seems richer. I took one star off because there are no measuring markers on the inside which I think is a mistake for such a pricey item. Other than this, the product is excellent and very high quality.
