Chef Knife - Super Sharp 6 Inch Ceramic Blade - Elegant Gift Box

I'm a chef, and I thought this would be a cool knife to bring to work. I never used a ceramic knife before, but thought I'd give it a try since it claims to hold an edge much longer than traditional steel knives. Anyway, I got my knife in the mail today and was happy to see that it is even more beautiful in person than the photos. I gave it a testing by slicing up some serrano peppers and onion for a chili. The first thing I noticed is that the knife is very light; which isn't something that I am used to. The weight of the knife didn't matter so much, since it is pretty sharp. The problem I had was that the handle is so large that I couldn't really get the edge of the blade all the way down onto the cutting board. My fingers kept hitting it before the knife finished each cut. I don't have big hand either; the handle it either too big, or the blade isn't tall enough. If the blade was about a half inch taller, I could get a much cleaner cut. Maybe I just need to learn a different cutting technique or something. I am used to using a nakiri and gyoto in the kitchen. All in all, I will definitely break out this knife when it's time to make sashimi cuts. As for chopping veggies, I think I'll stick to my nakiri.

Present for wife, wanted sharp cutter for veggies. Came with nice case, but it will reside on a magnetic strip for access. She sez it's great.

This is one of the best knives my hand has ever held! I fell in love with it the first time I used it. I was making a soup and salad so I had a lot of chopping to do. My new knife arrived just in time, so I whipped it right out. All I could say was "wow"! It cut through everything I threw at it with expert precision. It feels very natural in your hand and is super sharp. It also actually looks pretty cool too. My BFF came over for dinner and I asked her to do some chopping. She wanted to take it home with her! Needless to say she's getting one too. Buy it...you won't be sorry!

This knife is not sharp at all. The old one that I was hoping to replace cuts much better.

Comes in a very nice presentation boxthat can be used for storage , but a blade protector would have been nice not included .
