I see that someone attached this the the fence to stop the cat from jumping over. Did it work?

Are these spikes useful for keeping squirrels off fences?

We purchased ours to stop our 2 cats from climbing a fence when we are outside with them. It has worked well for that purpose. I would think it would depending on how wide the fence top rail is. We do not have squirrels in our area.

Can these be mounted on a vertical e surface, as in a wall?

There are generally 3 methods to install it. If they're implied in a wall, use screws to fasten the base on the surface.

can i install it on an exterior ac unit?

I would think so. I used glue to attach these to the ledge above my front door. No problem, no more birds.
