The products are designed and manufactured by New Wave in Pennsylvania, USA. Each tree's inherent beauty, shown in the grain lines, knots, and varying wood tones, combines with our work handcrafting each pochade box to create an item that is uniquely yours. Patent Pending. Size/Weight: Measuring 6"x8"x1.25," the model is lightweight at 1.35 lbs, with palette included. Materials: Baltic Birch wood with stainless steel and aluminum accents providing strength where needed most. All hardware is non-corrosive. Wood Finish: The Baltic Birch is hand sanded, and finished with New Wave proprietary wood finish for maximum durability. The finish is non-porous, dense, and resistant to water as well as standard artist solvents and mediums. In addition, the finish is crack proof, chip proof, and non-yellowing. Magnetic Components: Strong rare earth magnets are used for the closure, panel/canvas holder, removable side wall for palette cleaning/replacement, and accessory side tray attachment. Friction Hinges: Sturdy 180° range of motion. Tripod Mount: Compatible with universal 1/4" tripod mounts. Palette: High density plastic palette is included. Oil paints can be removed with solvents, and dry acrylic paint peels off. Product Storage: Smooth exterior free of protruding wood or metal components allows for quick and easy storage in any pack. Surfaces: Maximum Recommended Painting Surface is 9" Vertical. Teeth on the stainless steel panel holders are capable of holding panels as thin as 1/16" and stretched canvas up to 3/4" thick. Review: Superior plein air pochade box - I extensively researched plein air pochade boxes for some time. I decided to go with the ugo system and I couldn’t be happier. Its design is better than the custom system I made for myself (I didn’t want to invest a lot of money in a pochade box until I was sure I would like plein air painting). The magnets hold everything very well, including the side extension (I like the side extension so well I bought a second one later). The hinges hold firmly - tight enough for wind resistance, but loose enough to open with minimal effort. The extra large rubber bands and light carabiner provide a handy hanger for my solvent pot. This is an excellent product worth investing in providing stability and reliability superior to other products, in my opinion. The product is relatively light and packs up well in my backpack, including the side extensions and all my other supplies. I would strongly encourage considering the purchase of this product for all plein air painters. Review: Nice Mini from U.go - Love this mini u.go easel. Works nicely with my u.go tripod I use for my larger u.go easel. It’s so lightweight and compact, that I took it to do a Gouache painting of a waterfall. It fit in my small lightweight backpack so I could hike with it to the bottom of the falls. ## Features - Materials: The u.go Anywhere Pochade Box is made using Baltic Birch wood, while stainless steel and aluminum accents provide strength where needed most. This is what they recommend using for their Pochade Boxes. It also works well with other Pochade Boxes. **Q: what is the panel Capacity? can it go longer than 24in horizontal ?** A: This is for plein air. While the horizontal length is not limited, the weight is. It will be connected to a tripod. So the answer is yes it can and no you shouldn’t. **Q: What are the dimensions of the palette space (interior)?** A: I have the medium size one and the palette that it comes with measures 10.25" x 6.25". The sides of the pochade box due take off a bit of usable space, so its more like 10" x 6". **Q: Greetings. Is anyone using this for watercolor? Thoughts/opinions on using this for plein air watercolor painting? Thanx.** A: I would absolutely use this for watercolor. A watercolor block or paper will easily work and a small travel palette placed on the side tray. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superior plein air pochade box *by R***Y on June 4, 2026* I extensively researched plein air pochade boxes for some time.
