Very effective without the cyano side effect
I was using Red Sea Nopox for years which is very effective at reducing undesirable nitrates and phosphates but I always found it came with a side order of cyano ! Reducing the dosage helped and I personally think the recommended doses are too high but still there would be some cyano.I then tried this product which was cheaper on the 500ml size and the cyano started dying so for me this product is superior because you can reduce undesirable nutrients without ugly cyano. The product does say that it is specifically engineered to not fuel Cyanobacteria and from my experience this is true. The product by Quantum is also designed to avoid cyano but you need two products .Overall this is great, reduces nitrates and phosphates as it should but in addition seems to balance and stabilise the tank much better than alternatives. It’s reasonably priced and quick delivery on Amazon.You MUST ensure to have high surface agitation for oxygen exchange and an effective skimmer to oxygenate the water and remove bonded phosphates when running these products.
