Effective, but you have to find it
This is what you want to treat end cuts of treated lumber on your deck or other projects, or to treat wooden posts. I’ve used it for years, but it isn’t always easy to find . Kudos to Amazon for making available such an amazingly comprehensive inventory.

Very Good Product and Pleased
I wrote a long review and sent a video, however they would not post it. So now this will be short and sweet. The product didn’t have the strong smell as others reviewed. I did use a mask and gloves. This was used for my basement to treat the wood indoors. It went on as the can read. It dried very well. I waited two days later and did not smell anything. I loved the product. I used a brush to apply the solution. It is very liquid so be careful that it doesn’t splash on you. I do recommend this product.

Prepare your wood to be more durable
The solution goes a long way and has a fairly strong odor- so use it outside only and not near any fire source. The delivery came in a box that looked fine, but the can was very dented. It was so badly dented, that it is hard to believe that it did not leak or rip off the can lid. The solution looks fairly clear, but takes on a green cast when applied to wood and darkens more as it dries. I just let it soak in for several hours, then followed with sealer and paint. This product should greatly reduce wood boring pest problems for years to come.

Code requirement
Code required for ends or tops cut down. Two cuts works best.

Easy to apply
Read a lot of reviews that complained of the odor. I used outside and did not even notice a smell. Used carefully as to not get on me. Cleaned up very easily with soapy water. Have not had in place long enough to judge effectiveness but I am hoping. Used on cut portion of new step stringers where previous stringers rotted out after just 11 years.

As good as the stuff you get from the lumber yard!
I built a barn, and after nailing in all he grade beams, we realized they weren't pressure treated. I didn't want to take it all off, so I ordered two gallons of this Coppercoat. I did a lot of reading about PT wood, and realized a lot of pressure treated wood is no longer "pressure" treated, and on my receipt from the lumber yard it actually said "treated lumber"... Many lumber manufacturers are now only treating the wood with a solution like Coppercoat. I knocked the wood out just a little so the Coppercoat could get behind it, and I soaked the grade beams with 6 very wet coats, using a garden sprayer to get behind the board where they meet the posts. They literally look identical to the pressure treated posts, same color, same smell. A gallon went way further than I thought it would, so having an extra gallon, I went ahead and coated the pressure treated posts too. Can't have too much protection! I even poured some at the base of the posts where they're concreted in. I'm now not worried at all, I feel like they are better protected than I would have gotten from the lumber yard. At the end of the day, there's two chemicals that protect your wood. Copper to protect from rot (alkaline copper quaternary (ACQ), copper azole (CA) or micronized copper azole (MCA)). And arsenic to protect from insect damage. As far as I'm concerned, this product if applied in several heavy coats can serve my treated wood needs...

Peace of mind for new deck
I bought this product per the reviews I read about it and applied it to the support structure of my new deck prior to decking being installed. My intent was to prolong the life of my deck. The odor is very strong when wet and a few days after drying, but it will go away within a month. Time will tell if this works, but I am glad I coated my deck's under-structure with it as the alternative was to do nothing and allow it to gradually age rot.

Only Time Will Tell
Good wood preserver and I've also been buying the 5 gallon buckets. I use it on new roof decks and 2x6 foundation beams. Using a high quality brush works best because there's no waste and I can store it in 1" of this and close the lid. If I need more, I would just pour in from the bucket. I would never buy pre-made treated wood again. They're heavy and swelled up so the dimensions are always more. Then after they dry, they become distorted and deformed. When I'm working with foundation, the 5.5" dimension has to be exact for it to fit properly. I apply at least 3 coats of this with waiting time for each coat to dry. The ends of the beams soak up more than the rest but plywood panels tend to soak up a lot. I give it only 4 star because I usually only work when the weather reports said 0% chance of rain but due to climate change, it's so unpredictable and I sometimes get a gush over my property for a few minutes and washed away the treated lumber that had been set and dried for a few days. That begs the question how does this protect underground lumber which the product claimed?
