Very very good cachaca. I ordered both the standard and the gold Velho Barreiro, and it took me a while to taste the difference. The gold is not superior but slightly dryer and has more dfinition. In a caipirinha, you can balance this with the sugar and the lime anyway, so I will probably stick with the standard one. I'll keep the gold for a straight drink on ice.

Seriously Good
I ordered a bottle of this a while back and I highly recommend it. Very refreshing and a nice change to rum.

The standard Velho Barreiro is much better
This "Gold" version is actually bad...The standard is much better, don't waste your money on this one.

Not quite the same taste as you would by in Brasil
I have tried many cachaça whilst living in Brasil and this one (brewed in the uk) doesn’t quite have the same taste. However it is still good and worth the purchase

Great value for money aged cachaca
I found this whilst looking for un-aged cachaca to make Caipirinhas after the piece of my regular cachacas has jumped up. This cachaca is an excellent, great value ingredient which I’d happily buy again.
