This is a wonderful messenger bag and very reasonably priced for the high quality
I did an exhaustive search to find the "right" messenger bag for me - not just on Amazon, but elsewhere as well. The best price with the most extensive details and information about the product was on Amazon. I received it very quickly (A+). It was exactly as described (A+). The price (after seeing and using the product) was extremely fair - in fact, surprisingly low for such a quality product. This messenger bag is very well made with all sorts of storage capability, well-padded to protect my MacBook Pro, and strikingly good looking. Many of the bags I looked at before buying this one, looked, for my style and taste, a little too gaudy (all the leather trim, brass shiny buckles and buttons) . They looked more like a "man purse" which is something I did not want. This has a tasteful, stylish look to it while still having a utilitarian look. It is a great bag! It has just the right mix of style and functionality for my tastes! The canvas of which it is made is quality - in terms of thickness (not too thick, not too thin and "floppy"). I feel totally confident in its ability to hold all that I need to carry around with me (I teach College courses) and, carry it safely. Some of my students even commented favorably on the bag and asked me where I got it. This tells me that it's also appealing to younger (than me) people. In summary, I am very impressed with this bag - for its functionality, performance, and for having just the right flair of some contemporary styling without going "over the top". I strongly recommend this bag. I feel it looks appropriate on campus and feel that it would look just as appropriate in a corporate environment. Classroom to board room: this bag is a perfect fit.

This bag gets an A++ from me!
I'll admit that this wasn't my first choice in a messenger bag. I had wanted one for a long time, and had researched long and hard to find one that I wanted. However, after ordering the first one (which I don't even remember), I found out that it wasn't available anymore. Since I didn't want to wait 4-6 months for it to get back in stock, I went back to researching and found this bag. I love it! The color is a perfect neutral color (the green one), not too flashy, but looks good. It has lots of pockets (more on those later), is accessible and well-built. I rarely, if ever, use my bookbag now and use this messenger bag for most of my toting needs. The pictures are fairly self-explanatory, but I will go ahead and give a rundown on what this bag has.Main Pouch: It has one main section underneath the flap, divided into three pockets. The pocket closest to the back of the bag is padded for laptops. My 15" Dell fits easily in it.Flap Pocket: There is a zippered mesh pocket on the inside of the flap. It can be a little awkward to get into, but when I went to Paris for a week I used to pocket to keep my passport and money in. I felt that it was very safe in there. (I had a friend along who kept "pickpocketing" from members of our group to show them how unaware they would be if a real thief came along. However, I was the only one who had a bag that he was never able to steal anything from.)Front Pockets: There are 3 large pockets in front of the main pouch section. One is as wide and deep as the bag, secured with a strip of velcro. The second is similar, but about 1/3 as wide and in the center. The third pouch is off to the side, and has no closure system.Pencil Holders: As has been previously stated, the pencil holder is....weird. When the bag is full, the pencils don't stay in the black strip and stick out. I generally just stick my pencils in the smallest front pouch; I can just grab them from the side without unbuckling the bag.Outer Pocket: There is one pocket on the back side of the bag. It is secured with a velcro flap. It is hard to access while carrying the bag, since it is right next to the body, but it's still a useful pouch.I have loaded this bag with books and my laptop, and it has felt sturdy every time. I rarely use the handle, mainly because I prefer the strap. The handle is in a slightly awkward position, but I don't mind since I don't use it. You just have to remember to have the bag closed and clasped when you use it.I have had this bag since March and have loved it sooo much! It's many compartments make it easy to organize things, it is well constructed and sturdy, very comfortable and overall a great bag!

Great Bag (the shoulder strap clips DO swivel) - Some Durability Issues
UPDATE (Jan 2018):Pack is holding up fairly well. I use it every day. The flap on the back pocket is separating from the bag for about 3 inches at one end. Otherwise, everything else is still great. Kind of surprised that the stitching isn't stronger, and the other end of the rear flap is holding just fine. I don't think the one side is separating because of use, because I don't reach into the pocket from the sides. I always open the flap to access the pocket. Just inconsistent craftsmanship on the stitching I guess. Otherwise, it has been a good bag and I'll continue to use it. It was certainly worth the price (only $32). I've had worse problems with more expensive bags, so I guess a little stitching problem on the rear flap isn't that big of a deal.ORIGINAL REVIEW (Jan, 2016):I have been carrying a computer backpack for years, and decided it was time to let go of it. It is larger than I need and most of the storage areas in it go unused. When I traveled a lot, it made sense, but I don't travel more than once or twice a year for work now, so my needs have changed. I wanted a messenger style bag, but I don't like the look of most of what I see on the market. As an avid outdoors-man, I wanted something that better reflects my style and sensibility. I really like this bag. Yes, the handle is a little offset, so it doesn't carry perfectly when you use it, but I use it as a messenger bag, so my interactions with that handle are minimal. It's not something that bothers me.Everything else is great. The canvas and Velcro materials are very rugged and the strapping and buckles are all thick and durable. The detachable ID holder is a non-starter for me. I don't see it as a selling feature, but it's there if you need it. The shoulder strap clips have been criticized by other comments in the past, but mine have built-in swivel and seem very rugged. No issues there. The shoulder strap comes with an adjustable pad and the webbing is thick and rugged. The bag looks and feels like it is made of old military duffel bag material, only worn to make it more pliable and less sand-papery. My old duffel was a workhorse, and my A3 bag is still in use today, almost a decade after my military career ended. The styling of this bag is probably not for everyone, but I like it.The pockets and storage are just right for what I need. There's a padded sleeve for your laptop and two interior pockets. There's one external pocket on the "back" of the bag (has a flap). There are plenty of loops for styluses and writing utensils, and pockets on the "front" for business cards, computer mouse, cords, etc. to fit. If you travel light, this will work. If you are just commuting to/from work, this is a great bag. No complaints. The reinforced bottom is a great feature, and the shoulder strap loops on the bag are connected to the body of the bag by nylon webbing that goes all the way around the bottom of the bag. Very secure.I absolutely understand if someone preferred a more "metro" looking messenger bag, but this one suits my style and needs very well.

Great bag! Rugged
Great bag! Rugged, durable material, yet still looks good. I take it to the office, in the truck, into dirty work trucks, outside, everywhere. It even got stolen from my vehicle, filled with broken car window glass, recovered by the police, and shows no wear or damage whatsoever.Lots of pockets of various sizes to keep things organized. Room to stuff so much stuff into it that it'll be too heavy to carry. You'll have to hold yourself back loading this thing up.If the police hadn't recovered this bag so fast when it was stolen, I'd have bought another without question.
