Thankfully Billy in the review above mentioned the programming software password is 888888. The software is the only somewhat strange part about these radios. I have numerous other models of Zastone handhelds and none of my others require a password for the software. Also all my other Zastone handhelds you can choose a frequency step from a list. Thus far I have not found that option in the T3000 software. However I have communicated with a large array of other brands of radios and transmit and receive clarity is always great with these. They program with the regular USB to 2 pin Kenwood cable style that most of these radios use.
