What flavor does this impart on the meat? i received a bag of something similar with a lump charcoal order and i've never opened it as i forgot it.

I use them for my competition. The barrels are oak - so it gives an oak smoke flavor. I think I can taste bourbon in the meat, but it is probably in my head. It does make a nice smoke though during the process. I buy the 20 Lb bucket - better price.
