GEKRY USB 3.0 Hub, Aluminum 10-Port Powered USB Hub 3.0 with 8 USB 3.0 Data Ports, 2 Smart Charging Ports, 12V/3A Power Adapter

I have been experiencing a rash of "USB port deaths" recently. Geek Techs suspect they are being fried by static electricity causes from putting in and taking out USB connections. I was down to 3 working ports on my tower (I started with 7 built in ports) and was beginning to panic. I moved all documents and photos from my hard drive (just in case) and ordered the GEKRY USB 3.0 hub, Aluminum 10-Port Powered USB Hub in hopes of saving my tower as all other parts were working fine. It works!!!! I now have enough ports that I don't need to move connections in and out, thus eliminating the possibility of more static damage. I like having the charger port for my phone, but could have used one additional regular port and have only one charger port. However, so far I'm happy with my 8.

I'd first tried a rival brand and it intermittently lost connection with the computer. It looked nice, but didn't work very well. No such problems with this one. I haven't tried it with external hard drives as far as speed, but everything I have attached to it is working well and I've had no drop outs with it. I did have one issue at first that made me think it was dead on arrival, there's a reset button on one end of it, pressed that and it was fine.

The USB ports could be a few mm further apart

I bought this hub when I got my new Mac Mini. 10 ports were perfect for my drawing tablet, printers, scanner, camera, flash drives, etc. The design was nice and easy to use. Worked great for 5 1/2 months and then, the power switch kept turning itself off and became difficult to turn back on. Since it had a 12 month warrantee, I emailed Gekry and they immediately refunded my money. However, I can not recommend this hub.

Initially I thought I had scored a great deal on a 10 port USB hub with 2 fast charging ports, since the cost was relatively reasonable. It's going in the garbage today after only 7-months of use. I was down to the last 3 working ports until this morning, when it went completely bad. Would not buy again.

Nice design and not a lightweight cheesy product. Quality aesthetic painted aluminum housing. A single on/off switch. USB B receptors have a good tight feel to them. No complaints.

Husband says it great and does what he needs it to.
