I do a lot of meat smoking and grilling. Have previously purchased several Kosmos meat rubs. Last night had bbq grilled chicken which was rubbed with olive oil & Kosmos Honey Chiphole rub. Wrapped and into fridge all day. My wife kept saying during dinner "this chicken tastes wonderful". She is not a BBQ meat eater either. Found this Kosmos SPG rub and after checking kitchen counter inventory, nope no gotta. Ordered a bottle and once received did the taste test. With any new spice or rub, I wet end of pinky, dip in spice, place on END of tongue. This will immediately report to taste buds all flavors, including any heat or excessive salt. If to much salt, like in other brands, I return item. Have not found any Kosmos that taste buds do not like. SPG is no exception! Tastes wonderful and 100% passed wet pinky taste test. Again, wife is not big meat eater and we are not rich. I buy meat when on markdown or low quality cuts (poor people beef). A light coating of Olive Oil makes the rub stick and pentrate. Then into fridge all way to tenderize and penetrate meat flavor. Onto grill and when using Kosmos brand she always comments about "great flavor". The SPG is a chunkier rub with Sea Salt, excellent. If you like a finer rub, grab Kosmos Texas Beef Dry Rub which is another excellent beef rub.

Flavor is great but VERY salty

We grill and smoke meat every weekend and sometimes even sooner. Roughtly 10-50lbs. My son and I love to experiement with different rubs for BBQ, Texas Brisket, chicken, burgers, ribs, and more. After trying a lot of different craft made rubs, this one is our go-to for hamburgers. make the patties and season well on both sides. Let sit for 10-20 minutes and pat the seasoning into the patty. Then grill over gas, wood, or your choice of charcoal. The versatility of this rub is great. It is good on other meats but outperforms on burgers, in our opinion. We burn through a lot of this rub and the ingredients do not cake up or get clumpy.

Excellent seasoning. First purchased this at an ACE Hardware store. Great on almost everything. Happy to find it on Amazon. Shipping was fast. Just as described.
