Some of the reviews made me doubt this, but these are indeed pretty hefty and thick as handkerchiefs go. I can't imagine it being much thicker or larger and still calling it a handkerchief. Also very soft after one wash. No need to iron unless you're particular. It held it's shape well.They came in a clear cellophane bag with two ribbons around them, not a gift box per se. Color is nicely dark.TIP: If you want thick cotton handkerchiefs for just home/workshop use, consider cutting up used or new t-shirts. They make great handkerchief material (thick, soft and absorbent), are way cheaper ($5 for a whole shirt that makes many handkerchiefs), provide a good use for worn out t-shirts, launder easily, don't need ironing or hemming, come in any color, etc. Cut them any size you want. They just sag and crumple more than they fold properly, so come out looking more like snot rags than handkerchiefs. So it's nice to have a few of these classier ones on hand too. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ buy these little snot catching dudes *by A***A on May 17, 2018* My boyfriend uses hankies like no other. We are in our 20's and to be honest, I have never known a habitual hanky user. He has had the same ratty old mix-matched set of hankies the whole time I've known him, so I bought him these hankies as a gift. I even had them embroidered with his initials be all cute and ish. And the slight detail on the border is cute too (or not cute if you're a dude, use the word tasteful lol)These hankies are durable and soft on his nose. With that being said, there are little strings that hang off of the seams of a few of them. They don't damage the hanky, but I haven't pulled them off. He has had these hankies for about 5 months, and no holes (yet). He uses at least one daily and had it wadded up in his pocket or tossed on his nightstand at all times.
