First time working with leather, but I used this with the wooden burnishing tool and the edges came out very smooth. So overall I think it did what it was supposed to do

Great for dyeing and burnishing in one go, but does get over hands. If not using black stitching you will need to burnish before you stitch.

Probably the best burnishing compound on the market, but it's too easy to get black where you don't want it. It's nothing wrong with the product, but your probably better off dying edges black and burnishing in two separate steps. I'll be going back to clear tokonole except on black leather.

For those struggling to burnish the edges of projects made with oil or chrome tan leather, this works great. A little goes a long way so watch how much you apply.

The black Tokonole is perfect for getting a dark burnished edge with little effort. I prefer burnishing to edge painting and this makes the dyeing/burnishing process one simple step. The black does take a couple of coats to become opaque compared to clear Tokonole but it works great in my experience.

Great product! I have the brown and clear versions of this and all are great. Makes burnishing so much easier! I definitely prefer this over gum trag.
