Highly recommended dog toy
I don't know if you have a dog like mine, but MY 14-lb pug mix destroys ALL toys; even the "indestructible" ones. I've purchase many well-rated toys (4+ stars) on Amazon that her sharp teeth have laid waste to in 10 minutes or less. She gets so obsessed with her toys that she focuses all of her attention on getting to the "center of the Tootsie pop" in as few licks as possible. Great fun for her...not so much fun for mom and dad - and concerning as well should she create a choking hazard for herself.THIS sucker is different. It's solidly constructed, but it's also nice and soft, so it is great for indoor use as well as outdoors. I have never tried to throw it so that it comes back to me (it is a boomerang, after all), but it works great for extended periods of fetch and is easy to throw. It's not indestructible. Nothing really is, right? I must watch my dog to make sure her obsessive personality doesn't take over when she rests and gnaws on this product - she will get a thread going and start pulling. I just take my scissors and trim it right down again and it's good to go. I have three boomerangs going at all times and mix them up for her - especially when my messy pup takes long drinks of water and then soaks her toy with water left in her mouth. She's a mess. She makes this toy a mess. I just grab another and let the first dry out and let the fun continue.I've purchased about half a dozen of these over the last year. Two out of six have been thrown out. Four remain, but will eventually be replaced as well. I will repurchase this toy - again and again.

Not that tough
My dog shredded this in a couple days. Usually the toys last a day so thatβs longer than normal but for the price I thought it would last longer.

Accept no substitutes
The Tuffy Boomerang is our dog Tiny's favorite toy, and she can usually be found wandering around the house with it firmly clenched in her mouth. Despite being a small dog, she has chewed up countless stuffed toys at a far greater rate than our previous dog Gretchen, a much larger German Shepherd (in fact, Tiny inherited her first Tuffy Boomerang from Gretchen, who had never succeeded in wearing it out). We have tried many stuffed toys advertised as "chew-proof" or "chew-resistant", and not one of them has lasted more than a few days before being completely eviscerated. The Tuffy line of toys is the exception. We have gone through four or five Tuffy Boomerangs, but each one has lasted at least a year of heavy use (i.e., regular chewing) before wearing out. Tiny has been very attached to each one, and perks up immediately if one of us utters the word "Tuffy". She unhesitatingly ranks Tuffy at a solid five stars and two paws up.

My dog loves these! Needs better squeakers in it!
I'd give these 4 1/2 stars for one reason, the squeakers. Not sure what cheap squeakers they put in, but I squeezed one with my finger and it stopped working, so I gave my lab his 5 minutes of glory squeaking them and that was it, 5 minutes at best. Now it's a slobbered up wet plush toy. I get these Junior Ultimate Boomerang toys for my 80 pound yellow lab to play catch or tugs indoor on rainy days. Seems like the Junior last longer, 3 to 6 months and he is tough on toys. Last one I got in January and it's still good on July 8th! Most of the Tuffy toys are a little expensive IMHO, but I guess they are worth it. I should buy stock in the company since Tuffy seem to be the only toys that last a while.

Yes it's TUFF!
I have a 5-month-old Havanese/piranha. He's destroyed lots of toys in minutes. This one is very durable. I don't think he'll destroy this one, at least not for a long time. Very happy!!!

Review after two years: Power chewed and still being used! See picture:
Our three year old black lab can chew and destroy just about every fabric toy we have ever given her within five minutes. These Tuffy toys are no exception when it comes to her chewing a hole and removing the stuffing and squeaker, however it is the usefulness after that step that makes these toys so durable. The stitching and overall strength of the fabric is so tough that after nearly two years this is still being used and enjoyed by Shelby. It gets used for tug of war and fetch and it withstands all sorts of punishment and stays durable. As far as plush type toys go, these Tuffy ones are the best; we have a few of them. If you see these for a good price, have no reservations buying them because they are very durable, even after the stuffing is removed. I attached a picture of the Tuffy Boomerang which was just taken in March, 2019.

Great swimming toy!
I have a 11 year old female Labrador who loves to swim and fetch things in the water. She has sever cancer and with the help of a life jacket she can still do what she loves is swimming. We used to use sticks we would find but it got to the point where her eye sight wasn't so good and she would spend at least 10 mins swimming in circles trying to locate where the stick vanished since it blended in well with the water. So we needed a toy that wasn't so big, so she could fit it in her smaller mouth, something that would float and something that she could easily see in the water. She certainly isn't a chewer of toys at all so I can't account for the durability of chewing but this toy although it gets dirty easily by being dragged through the muddy sand it has withstand many throws and dunks into the water. I'm very pleased with the toy. It's only used for the water.

Springer spaniel approved
I bought this for my Springer spaniel knowing how much he likes to chew toys especially with squeakers in it. This has lasted months now. None of the stitching has come undone he hasn't been able to pull any of the stuffing or squeakers out. I am so pleased with this. He will sit there and chew the ends for 20 mins at a time and it is still holiding up well

Yes its tough
Our dog can decimate a so called tough toy in a matter of minutes - as witnessed when we bought a Kong toy recently - so this Tuffy's didnt have high expectations. However after several months of abuse its still going strong.

Not good
Good luck with this!It appeared tough and they went on about how the stitching makes it very tough, well our staff cross puppy (11 months) destroyed it totally in one week. The squeakers were removed in 2 days leaving only the stuffing which took another day, the stitching was then pulled out another day and the final days spent ripping the remainder of the material to bits.(i am thinking of returning the material so it can be recycled for maybe another toy!!)i would only recommend if you have a dog that likes to carry and play and not chew.
