You can also buy a black neoprene "fender washer" from Hillman that is 3" in diameter with a one-inch hole, which also puts a gentle squeeze on the transfer valve. If you're using these things to make homebrew, be sure to sterilize before your wort comes into contact with it... **Q: Is the material really silicone rubber or just a compound that includes a gum rubber and silicon dioxide (silica particles)?** A: Looks like and feels like silicone rubber, although I've never handled a compound of gum rubber and silicon dioxide (silica particles). **Q: Does the white color fade when exposed to sunlight?** A: Yes, it is normal to get some coloration when exposed to sunlight. **Q: Can this be used for a gas cap seal?** A: We are no sure what do you mean with “gas”.
