Are they machine-washable?

His item is fully waterproof, just like a wellington boot and are great for outdoor garden work, however there is an inner lining which is made from foam and cloth, I would not recommend machine washing because of the inner sole, it may be possible to remove the inner sole and wash it by hand, personally I would not be too concerned with washing the inside of the shoe, the outside can be easily cleaned by washing with a hose or wiping with a damp cloth just like you would with wellington boots but you need to be careful not to allow water inside the shoe. after all You would not fill the inside of your wellies with water. 🧛♂️

Do they have a steel toecap? It says Safety Clogs.

Firstly, the shoes I bought and in the picture haven't steel toe caps. The upper material is rubber, inner material is fabric, and the sole is rubber. Safety boots with steel caps are similar, but are generally used in construction, gardens, industrial, and are a safety shoe/boot.

Are the soles hard enough to stand on a spade, like, say, walking boots? Or are they quite soft and not ideal for spade digging? Thanks.

Hi, unfortunately we are not able to advise in particular on whether this style is good for standing on a spade. However, the product description does advise that this is a synthetic sole if this is any help. You also do have 12 months to make a return if this product is not suitable, as long as the item is in its original condition.
