The eventual long leap down was also a concern to us.I placed the stairs next to, and parallel to the end of our bed to allow for more walking clearance as we have a small bedroom. The stairs are a perfect 18" wide, and very sturdy. Now our 75 pound dog easily climbs the carpeted sturdy stairs and turns left at the top to climb on top the bed (but only when invited to do so). He now is more calm when he enters the bed, and we are very happy we invested in this product.

These stairs are perfect for our 5 pound dog and toddler to get on and off our tall bed. The stairs are sturdy enough to hold my weight as an average adult female and they look nice too. They shipped fast and don't have any funny smells from production. I am very happy with these.

Well built but step width is not as deep as expected

Even though these are advertised as stairs for cats, they work just as well for dogs. My pugs love them. The quality is the best I have found! I recommend these stairs over all others.
