Strong Magnet
I used 2 of these to fix a broken glove box in my car. The magnets are very strong. So strong that I pulled part of my dash off. Whoops. Some tape on the magnet helped to weaken the force to make it just right. My only issue with the product was 1 of the screws came completely stripped. I didn't have the right size handy, so I had to buy some.

Perfect for gate
Works perfectly to keep my gate closed. Even withstands windy conditions. Works much better than a gate latch, which I swapped out for this as it kept getting stuck. What a clever little invention!

Keeps my closet door shut!
Strong magnet. The magnet did break in half after a few days of use, but that isn't effecting it's performance.I needed this magnet to keep a door shut (it has no latch or regular knob, just a pull) that my cats were able to open. This is quite a strong magnet and keeps the door closed great!

Worked perfectly for my application
I built a swing gate for the top of my stairs on my deck to keep our dog from running away when we are on the deck with her. It is held closed by a magnet. I initially used a magnetic cabinet latch, but that rusted and lost its magnetism in a month. Looked for a rust proof latch and could not find one. Found this product. It's slightly larger than a quarter. Could not install it so both sides were over each other due to the gate configuration. One side is about 1/4 inch over the other side, but yet it still has great magnetic holding power. I really have to pull on the gate to open it. Great solution.

Strong, by poor delivery
These magnets certainly did the job I needed them for. However the retailer was very poor on delivery. I had a two day guarantee delivery that showed up for weeks later. I will say if you plan to countersink them they are less than 1 inch in diameter, so if you're losing a standard 1 inch wood drillbit you're going to have a gap.

Good closure solution. Leverage can make it feel weaker than it is.
I installed this on the hinge side of a closet door as an alternative to the mechanical ball and spring system that kept getting harder and harder to open. It works very well, and keeps the door closed. One thing to note, depending on where you install it you may have a lot of leverage when pulling it open. A 30 inch lever (such as a standard 30 inch door) can reduce the 40 lbs of force to less than 2 lbs.* I recommend going with the 40 lb model rather than the 20 lb one for that reason.* This is a rough approximation of the actual forces involved, but generally it is easy to open a door secured with these magnets.

works great for a twisted cabinet door
when we installed large cabinet doors on the kitchen pantry we found that one of the doors was twisted a little. when it was closed, there was a small gap at the bottom corner where it didn't hit the cabinet box. We used one of these magnets down there. The magnet pulls the door closed so the door is flush when closed. This magnet is very powerful, so we used a few pieces of tape attached to the inside part so it wouldn't stick so much when we tried opening it. I would think there would be many applications for these so I purchased a few more anticipating i'll need them in the future

Perfect for my gate.
I purchased this to hold an outdoor gate closed. I used a router (actually a Dremel tool with arouter foot) to inset each side into the wooden "stop" pieces that make a face-to-face contact when the gate is closed. It just works. Even with this fairly elaborate installation, total install time was only about 1/2 hour. If you do not need to inset, time will be about 5 minutes. I will update this review with results after a wind storm.
