Nothing ever grows there easily as it's shaded for most of the spring/summer... and then whatever does grow there is destroyed by the fallen Sycamore leaves during the autumn/winter period (even if I do a regular clearing of them for composting). I thought I'd try Graminex Shade Grass Seeds this time round to see if they were easier to establish in the shade and if they would be more robust.I raked the soil and started seeding in the middle of April (2020), what with all the uncharacteristically warm weather we were having... which did feel a bit early in the year. And I did over seed slightly. I watered once a day, generally in the evening. I wasn't hopeful after having not seen a single blade pop through a fortnight later... but they have just started to show on week three. It's a little patchy and all appears to be growing at different rates but at least it's got going.
