I bought this gi as a replacement for my dad's, which I'd been using for the past 30 years. I chose it based on the multiple purchases, and the high ratings. That said, I was a little apprehensive about which size to order.... I am a 5'2" female, with an athletic build (wide shoulders, arms NOT like toothpicks) -- waist 31", hips 41", inseam 30". I ended up ordering the size 4 (5'6"/150lbs), and that was the right choice.The pants are a tad long-waisted on me, but the length is perfect, just a little bit highwater, and they allow plenty of room for movement. I like that they have both elastic and a drawstring (the pants from my dad's old-fashioned gi only had the drawstring :-D). The jacket fits well across my shoulders, and I could easily wear a couple of t-shirts under it if I wanted. The only thing that's less than ideal with the jacket fit-wise is the position of the ties, which are a bit low on me, and I may end up repositioning them (or not). I do like the weight of the fabric, and hope it doesn't change -- or shrink -- after it's been laundered.I doubt this gi will hold up as long as my dad's did, but overall, I'm happy with this purchase, and I do think it's a good value for the price.

My son got his Gi for Christmas and loves it! The material is sturdy and seems like it will hold up well ( I have not washed it yet but he has been playing in it at home). The size fit well and I will definitely be buying more as he keeps growing. You can't beat this Gi for the price; it is well worth it.

Wanted to buy one with fast shipping and this one fitted my need. Got it shipped and received within a day. I ordered size 4 for 5' 7" and fitting is little tight ... may be I should have ordered one size bigger. At the same time the pant length is going all the way till ankle which ideally should have been little shorter. However the cloth material is fine and good value for the price i paid.

Let me start at the end: I will be donating this uniform, with a note explaining that the waist is EXTREMELY small and may require a custom alteration. No offense, but I'm sure Hawk Sports can do better than this! Problem? They cinch the waist with an elastic band that makes a size 4 uniform, supposedly fit for a 34" waist, something that a 7 year old girl with an 18" waist MIGHT be comfortable in (not kidding!). Suggestion to manufacturer: take out the elastic band, have a drawstring only on the waist which you should tailor true to size, and then you've improved this uniform 100% (still runs small overall though). The better quality 100% cotton martial arts uniforms are tailored that way (this one is polycotton). I cannot fathom how you decided to go with the elastic band... Thank you.

I had a buy a karate outfit for my son after much research i settled with this particular one. My son is a 6 year old. It arrived in a timely manner i received just as pictured. The material was nice and comfortable. It fit my son but it was a bit short. And i believe he is taller than the average 6 soon to be 7 year old. When i realised that i reached out to company a received a quick response. They were polite and extremely helpful. They actually sent me a replacement asap. I was grateful for their kind assistanceThey followed up even after they sent the replacement to ensure that i reveived itI did get value for my money. It was worth it and my little karate son is excited

Great quality, and comfortable material (not itchy or anything). It arrived early and I was happy with it overall. I went a tad on the larger end when I looked up the measurements, but overall it is accurate what was written in the description.Only complaint is that the belt is too long... It wraps around my brother's waist twice and still gets in the way.
