*Update after 2 weeks: I still love the chair but those arm rests though! I took them off. I hate them. They don't stay put since they're horizontally adjustable (I hope that makes sense!). Even trying to push the chair by the arm rest itself will move them out of position. My chair is on a really plush, high pile carpet and there's already resistance when you try to move the chair but, even still, they will move no matter what you do. Just leaning on them while sitting in the chair will move them. You have to move the chair by anything BUT the arm rest. This is such a 1st world problem but it's annoying. Admittedly, I don't know if you can tighten them so they stay put but I couldn't be bothered to check since I hate arm rests anyway. That being said, I am still in love with my chair and the original review below still stands.* I don't know why I waited so long to buy a decent chair. I have Degenerative Disc Disease which makes extended anything potentially painful. I work from home as I have since before the pandemic and I've been using a pretty, clear acrylic chair that I loved only for how it looked. I'm so very over it. The Nouhaus chair and 2 others kept popping up in practically every review I read online as the "budget" choice (I don't consider $350 "budget" - $35 is "budget"). However, a Herman Miller chair was never considered so this is my "high-ish end". Everything is relative! The other 2 chairs I kept seeing were a little cheaper but each only recline to 120° while this one reclines to 135°. If you don't have DDD, 15° isn't much and probably wouldn't matter. But if you do?? That 15° can make all the difference in the world. The chair was insanely easy to put together. Everything was clearly labeled and the instructions were straight forward. Then I got to sit in it. You can tweak the chair to fit you almost perfectly. At least I could. The lumbar support hits me just right (I'm 5'8"). The headrest is adjustable. The seat reclines and rocks so as I don't feel like I'll go over backwards while reclining the full 135° (you can loosen/tighten the resistance for when the chair reclines). It is so light yet feels solid. It's definitely alien looking (they all are). It only comes in black but that's ok. I gave up caring that it wasn't as pretty as my other chair as soon as I sat down in it. Now, I don't mind when I get stuck in my office for hours on end, unable to get up from my desk. The only thing I'm not big on are the arm rests. But I don't like arm rests to begin with. I can always take them off. I'm in love with my new boyfriend, er, um, I mean my new chair.

The headline certainly reveals my thoughts on this chair so I will give my "too long; didn't read" version right below, but I will also go into some more depth below that for those of you more discriminating readers. TL;DR - Supremely comfortable, build quality is excellent, very easy to put together (10-15mins max), great range of adjustability/range of motion, total game-changer for anyone who spends a lot of time sitting at a computer, etc. I have absolutely no regrets spending $300 on this chair. Full version: Firstly, let me point out that I RARELY write reviews for products. I can probably count the number of product reviews I have written on one hand. That's not because I don't like taking the time to support businesses that make good products, it's mainly because it's pretty hard to exceed my expectations and most products just meet expectations by doing what exactly what I wanted, no more and no less. My expectations for this chair were, naturally, pretty high considering the price tag but I frankly did not expect to be this satisfied and amazed at the difference any chair could make. As someone who is now working from home until further notice during the present COVID outbreak of 2020, I needed something better than what I had and this chair is an absolute game-changer in that regard. Here are my thoughts in summar: 1) Comes well packaged and with well-written, simple instructions which make it very easy to put together (10-15 minutes max) 2) Build quality is excellent. All the parts that should be metal/reinforced are and even the plastic parts that need to be plastic for lightness are of good quality. One more specific thing I noticed that goes to the quality of the parts is that the hardware included comes with pre-applied loctite thread locker (which is essentially a paste on the bolts which help keep them from coming loose over time after installation). In and of itself it isn't that important and is far from necessary on parts like chairs that live a pretty easy life (as opposed to, say, suspension components on vehicles, for example, which usually require loctite). HOWEVER, it's not common on products like this and it is a nice touch that I think suggests more attention to detail/quality for this product. It also shows that NOUHAUS isn't necessarily trying to cut costs wherever they can. 3) It is supremely comfortable! At first I had doubts about the mesh material used for the seat and back of the chair, compared to the more traditional cushion style, but after spending several hours straight without moving at all in this chair during work I can report it is all-around great. The fact I can sit in it that long without moving at all to adjust speaks to that point because I have to do that every so often when sitting in inferior chairs. The range of adjustability and movement of the chair to allow reclining and really any sitting style is impressive as well. Overall I'm completely pleased with the purchase and don't regret spending so much money on this chair whatsoever (currently priced at $300). I'm glad I treated myself to this thing and the only thoughts I have now are why the hell I didn't get something like this sooner to take better care of myself!

EDIT: I had to bump this up to 4 stars because I remembered that this chair came with two sets of wheels: plastic casters for carpet and gentle rubber casters for hardwood floor. I’ve never purchased a chair from a manufacturer that went this extra mile and I love it. Every manufacturer should do this, no matter how cheap the chair is in my opinion. ———————————————————— I purchased this chair because I’ve always found mesh chairs to be far more comfortable than leather chairs due to the suspension. This chair definitely delivers in the suspension area. It was easy to assemble, but after using it for a couple weeks now, I have some gripes with the chair. 1) The armrests are too easily shifted forward and backward, causing the chair to be come a wobbly mess if you need to brace yourself on the chair while you sit or rise. More of a minor annoyance than a major gripe. 2) The lower back support provided by the back of the seat is just okay. I wish I could move the back piece of the chair farther forward, but I have it screwed in as far forward as it’ll go. As someone who suffers from chronic lower back pain, this is a bit of a concern for me down the road. We’ll see how I feel after a few months of use. 3) This is the most important one for me. The mesh seat is nowhere near as comfortable as I had hoped, especially for the very expensive price tag. Yes, the chair has fabric mesh, but it is mostly woven plastic strings, which I find to be quite uncomfortable and rather rough on my clothes. Of course adding all this plastic to the seat of the chair helps the suspension factor and increases the longevity of the product, but the compromise is a bit of comfort and definitely on the texture. Overall, it’s a pretty stunning looking chair (the chrome is a nice aesthetic touch) and the recline adjustment is superb. But it lacks the comfort and softness I was looking for from a mesh desk chair. If the opportunity arose where I have the choice to buy this chair again, I think I’d pass. Not worth the $300 in my opinion.

So far I am so glad I spent a little more than what I first intended. I found a great deal on this chair, but it was still more expensive than my initial price range. The look, quality, and comfort of this chair seem to be well worth it so far. I want to give extra credit and appreciation that the delivery of the chair was sooner than expected and early in the day. I was so ready to replace my old office chair. I wanted a chair that would support my back and the chair back has the lumbar support in the right place for me. I also wanted a chair that would give me comfort when sitting for long hours. My butt felt so good, as I settled into the seat. I didn't want a large, cushy, leather chair, but more of a working office chair. I wanted a chair that would hold up over time and not have cushioning or material that would easily breakdown over time. My old office chair had the vented material for the back, but not the seat. I liked the venting on the back and felt that a vented seat would be good also. I never liked how seat padding seams to wear down over time. I had already added additional padded cushion to the old chair. I think that the seat on the new chair should hold up. We will see. I like that the chair back has adjustment so that it can recline and lock in place at a few different positions. It doesn't go to a full recline, but I don't want to fall asleep in my chair. The head rest is good for added support when working on the computer for hours. The head rest adjusts up and down, so you can find the best area on your head or neck you want to support. It does not adjust forward, but you can swivel it slightly up or down. The arm rests adjust up and down, as you would expect. The top also swivels in or out slightly. The arm pads are not soft and cushy. They have cushion, but it is firm. They should hold up over time. The chair comes with two sets of wheels. You can install the standard caster type wheels or the upgraded blade wheels. I choose to use the blade wheels. They make the chair roll easily on my laminate floor. They are smooth and quiet. Of course, you have seat height adjustment, as needed. With the blade wheels on, I think the seat height is perfect for me. But I am 5' 6. I might raise it just a bit. A shorter person would probably want to use the caster wheels. The instructions are a bit weak on the explanation. I did have to remove a couple things after installing them. The gotchas are that there is an arrow next to the "Front" designation on the seat mechanism. The R/L arm rest designation refers to when the chair is upright and not in the upside down installation position. The chair was packed in a manageable box and all the parts were packed very well. Many of the parts were packed firmly in foam. The bolts were in a plastic package and they gave you one extra of each size/type. Overall, I think this is the best working office chair that I have used, both in the office and working from home.

I love this chair. I've used it nearly every day for two months now, and bang for buck, this was a great purchase that I would make again. I work at a desk in my home office from 8:00am to 5:30-6:00pm every weekday, so I knew I needed to get a comfortable, ergonomic chair that wouldn't exacerbate my posture or hurt my body from just being in it with my sedentary job. I didn't need a super fancy-looking chair, but neither did I want an eye-sore. I also knew wanted something with great quality, first and foremost, and next had some solid and comfortable ergonomic features. This chair meets all these requirements. I cannot understate how much the roller blade wheels change my life. I am never going back. These things are silent, smooth, and can go over nearly any material. I don't have to push as hard or as much to move. I have poured concrete floors in my office, but see that long-haired rug in the photos? You bet your bottom dollar that this baby can roll smoothly from the concrete and over onto the rug it without getting stuck or having to push/pull for significant drag and it blew my mind the first time. The arm rest positioning is quite customizable: the pads can turn inward and outward, slide forward or back, as well as move up and down. The arm rest pads have a little soft give to them but are fairly firm. The headrest piece goes up and down as well as tilts forward or back. You could even decide not to install, if you didn't need or love it, and I think it wouldn't significantly detract from the chair's aesthetics (just two simple drill holes in the back). The composite plastic-fabric material ("ElastoMesh") is super breathable and would be so easy to clean if I ever did spill anything on it. My body (well, butt, really) does not feel like it sinks in to the seat any more or less than a normal office chair. (Phone for scale in the chair seat picture is an old Apple iPhone 6S Plus.) In fact, I think the tensile stress of this fabric gives me a slight spring, bounce and energy when I sit in it, which I actually prefer now to a soft, dense, lethargic piece of foam. The mesh fabric is soft to the touch with light pressure, and grippy with string-like friction with hard pressure. I've never had a problem with the textile. At first I was concerned that the lower lumbar piece was not adjustable, but it's quite supportive with this unique mesh and strong curvature. I'm 5'6" and the shape of the back contours quite naturally to me by default. I could imagine someone much bigger though possibly needing to adjust this or the whole back piece up from the seat. This would be my ONLY critique about the chair. I usually sit and have the chair tilted fully upright, but one could have this unlocked to smoothly dip back with pressure. You can also lock the tilt so it stays as your preferred angle. I feel fine (good, even) sitting in this chair for long periods of time, even though I do try to get up and move often. I've never felt pain standing up from it. This chair was better than most options I saw at an Office Depot. Most other corporate offices I've worked in had Herman Miller furniture, and I would say this chair could go head to head with their Aeron or Mirra designs in terms of quality and functionality.

First issue i had was with the logistics of the delivery. I was given a date to be delivered, then it got marked as being late. I checked the status of the delivery and it had not left a location in California. So yeah of course its late. I was given a new date of WED SEP 16 but then it got changed again to sometime between SEP 17 thru 22. I checked status and showed as being late. ok so on Thursday I checked again and it showed it had left CA and arrived in FT Worth TX. It sat there until on Friday it showed it was near my area but not out for delivery until Saturday, which is when it finally got delivered. I had to wait a bit and was able to open the box and there was no damage or a product that had been used and reshipped. everything was in its place and I put the chair together. I did have some issue with the allen wrench and the screws as they were a bit tough to get started but after a few tries they finally were able to work their way in and secure all the parts. i bought the chair with the roller blade wheels which is a much better feel than the regular wheels you get. I would get them if you can. The overall look and feel of the chair is good and the cylinder worked with no issues. I was able to raise and lower the chair. The arm rests worked great. The levers and reclining options were all good. The lumbar support is good and the head rest is a good thing to have as well. good support when you need it and when your in full recline its a good feeling to have all that support. The black and grey was my selection and it looks good. The all mesh material is good to and glad its not any upholstered leather looking office chair. I've only used it a few days but i am very happy that I got this chair. Will see over time how durable and how it takes every day use not that I am mostly working from home. Pictures coming soon. I do recommend that you take a look at this chair and give it a try. I was going to get one of the Staples chairs but found way too many bad reviews of broken or used items being sent to customers so I opted for this one and gave it try. I am glad I did but time will tell if it can endure. Let the challenge begin!

**Update 2** I reached out to Nouhaus support regarding the issue. After a few emails back and forth, they've agreed to send a replacement seat, but their viewpoint is that the chair is working as designed. While I appreciate them sending the replacement part, I'm going to recommend that potential buyers either try this chair out somewhere before purchasing or give the chair a real in-depth evaluation before your return period closes. Seating comfort is subjective, based on each individual's proportions, so this chair may not be for everyone. For me, the lack of comfort and durability of this chair compared to its price makes this a complete fail. I'd return it if I could, but I can't, so I will just avoid this brand entirely in the future. **Update 1** I've owned the chair for about 45 days now, and a lot of my enthusiasm is now gone. The mesh in the seat now presses down past the padded bar in the front, putting pressure on the back of my legs, this is exactly what I was afraid would happen. Now, using the chair for any extended period reduces circulation to my legs, and they feel like they're asleep! I can place a large pillow in the chair, but that defeats the purpose entirely. I'm past the return window, my only option is to contact customer service and hope they can swap out the seat. A full mesh chair seemed like a great idea at the time, but the execution on this one is below par. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've owned several traditional office chairs in the past, this is my first full mesh office chair. My specs: 6'1" 245 pounds. Packaging: the chair came in a large sturdy box, with the components in their own little foam cutouts. Everything inside was safe and all parts accounted for. The kit contains all the chair parts, a plastic container with the screws, and even includes an allen wrench for assembly. Assembly: Assembly was very straightforward and took me about 15 minutes total. I started by assembling the base (wheels, base, gas cylinder). Then I placed the seat upside down on the shipping box and assembled the top (seat, back, arms, bottom plate). Once the top and base were assembled, I placed the two together, and the chair was complete. One complaint I read was that it was hard to figure out what screws were which, I think I know where this comes from. The instructions illustrate each screw, and I was able to match each set with no problem, but there are spare screws included which I think might confuse folks. Ignore the spares, and you should be good. Two sets of wheels are included: standard office chair wheels, and bigger roller blade style wheels, which I installed. I like the roller blade wheels, but they are a bit taller than the standard ones, so the lowest chair position is a little taller than normal. Adjustment: the chair has basic adjustments, but nothing more. You have the usual lever that adjusts height. Pull the lever out to tilt, push it in to lock. Tension spring in the front to adjust tilt resistance. The tilt has three locking positions: fully reclined, partial recline, and full upright. Not a ton of adjustment options like a pricier chair, but all the basics are covered well. The arms are a mixed bag for me. They can be raised and lowered a good bit, and the armrests can be moved back / forth / left / right. Only the height can be locked in, the armrests will move about in any direction you apply pressure. Depending on who you are, this will be either a great feature or a minor annoyance. Comfort: I'm writing this review during a pretty brutal summer, and my old "leather" chair was miserable to sit in for prolonged periods. This chair's mesh back and seat are fully breathable, and I never feel like I'm overheating. The mesh set is comfortable, with the right amount of give. The lumbar support is great. The real star of the show for me is the recline positions: I have unintentionally fallen asleep at least once a day in partial or full recline. Not a great thing if you have work to do, but it's a real testament to how comfortable this chair is. Durability: I've had it for about a week, so I won't know how durable the chair is until I put more miles on it. So far, it's holding up well, I'll add an update in a few months. Style: The Amazon photos of the chair look a bit odd, but the chair looks much better in person. The chair looks futuristic and would look at home in any modern office or alien fighter craft. Price: At $369 full price (I got a $30 off coupon), it's definitely more expensive than a standard vinyl / PU leather chair, but in my short time with it, I think it's worth the money. The only unknown for me is the long-term durability of the chair, here's hoping it holds up. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this chair and can recommend it to anyone looking for a great looking for a comfortable office chair with modern styling.

This isn’t my full review yet, I love chair for a first impression, but this part of the headrest I found was broken. The screw in its plastic cover was inside the mesh hidden in its hole, but I heard wobbling behind my ear and it was this broken screw. It’s not a deal breaker obviously, and it’s not the reason for my 4-Stars. It’s just a worry that, as you can see, the mesh may start to get loosened up with time and use, and get easily ripped, because of this broken screw. I’d be happy if you send me a replacement headrest. Otherwise great chair, and I’d recommend, will also update this after using the chair for a bit. Edit: eeeeh... just after a couple/few weeks of use, I'm already coming back here to take away one star, for a total of 3. See, at first sight the chair looks very high quality, solid materials and looks great. PROS: I loved the reclining system, opposed to the traditional, gamer chair, one-position-lock-in-place system. Explanation: in my gamer chair/typical chair experience, this how the back of the chair works: you have a liver, set the back to a certain tilt degree, and have it permanently there, until your back gets sore and you have to reposition it. That's what my back gotten used to and that's what's given me back problems. See, in this chair, the back is best used as follows: leave the back liver in "freefall mode", meaning, don't lock the back in place, and then, using the knob on the bottom of the seat, adjust the "weight" of the back to match your preference. That way, the entire back seat of the chair will move freely along with your movement, it'll be stiff, so that it supports you and doesn't completely fall back if you lean on it; and, it'll be soft enough, so that IF you lean on it, it'll go back with you, but still be stiff enough to hold your posture in place. I don't know if that made sense, but, if you're a smaller guy, or better yet a smaller gal, this chair would fit you really well. CONS: First troubles started when assembling the chair, it was unnecessarily difficult, as in, only if they marked the screws and named them (like every other product assembly), the operation would've been much easier. All the screws look very similar, and it was a challenge for me figuring out each screw goes where, especially because they could fit in all holes. Second, the assembly is not precise, in each spot where you screw a part in, there's a huge room for error, example: attaching the back of the chair to the bottom, or attaching the pump to the bottom of the seat. These (in theory) MUST be locked in, in a very tight spot, where they're perfectly centered, with no wiggle room or anything like that, and then screwed in and tightened in place. That's how it should be... instead? You try your best to somehow hold the parts in place, perfectly bullseye center the screws in the holes without moving the whole thing and ruining the centeration, then tighten the screws diagonally one by one, and by the time you tighten the second screw, the first one would escape and shift its perfect centeration. Thus, shifting the whole centeration of the bottom seat being attaching to the pump and the base. Same exact thing goes to the back, and the armrests. I even got my brother to help me out rebuild the chair and try to center everything out, but it literally was impossible. That was TWO. Thirdly? After all the disasters and failed attempts in the alignment of the seat and the back, I get to start to rest and adjusting my posture to the chair, and here I find my red-flags. I'm a fairly small guy (compared to actual big guys), I'm 5'11-6' (180cm), and 158 lbs (72kg). And the chair was *very unfortunately* not comfortable over long hours. See, I'mma be clear, the chair is PERFECT for back posture, and sitting absolutely straight, I'm talking 90 degrees back, 90 degrees on the knees, for laser-focused-1-foot-from-the-monitor gaming. Like... it's actually really comfortable to sit absolutely straight in and game. But if you're anything like me, you get sore quick and tend to move your posture a lot? It's.... just not good! The space around the thighs is really really small, a snug fit, my thighs barely fit the mesh. If I slide a little bit lower, my back hits the plastic separator between the two back pieces. The headrest is decent, except it is too far back, whenever you want to rest your head on it, you have to reach your neck back to an uncomfortable position, i.e, you can't really rest your head on the headrest and continue using your PC. If you rest your head on it, you'll be look at the ceiling, even if you had the back of the chair completely tilted to the front. Lastly, the mesh material is uhhh.. I dunno it's not the softest and most comfortable, it is a mesh after all, so, much better than regular old gamer chair memory foam. But I dunno..... I guess I had my hopes a little bit higher. I'm already looking for a replacement, and this time I think I'm going for a real high end chair, I don't want to play the game of "budget guessing", buying something relatively cheaper and having to go through the pain of having it meet the expectations or absolutely shred them. That's the review.

every thing great(Arms,Arm Pads,Headrest,Backrest) but not the Seat cuz it get booty sleep

I’m very disappointed with this item. Nothing I received looked anything like what was described and shown in the pictures. No blade wheels, just cheap small plastic wheels, very poor packaging, the chair base felt so thin and cheap. This is not worth 1400 aed, maybe for a 200 aed I’ll buy it. What a joke.

Paso 12 horas trabajando y estoy muy contenta, ya no sufro de dolor en la espalda y es muy buena para acomodarse y poder trabajar muy a gusto, el producto viene completamente protegido y es fácil para armar. Very happy with the purchase. Mesh fabric is very cool and feels robust. Lumbar support feels like it was made for me! Nice firm support without trying to throw me out of the chair. (I'm a 6'1" 180-lb. man with Ankylosing Spondylitis so I'm very picky with range of adjustments and comfort/accommodation for my infirmities.) I like the seat tilt function and it was easy to adjust. Recline is nicely weighted - spring is well balanced - like the lumbar support it doesn't let you fall backwards and it doesn't try to throw you out of the chair. Unboxing and assembly took approx. 40 minutes and instructions were straightforward. Each part used in assemby is sturdy and all the screws and provided Allen wrench are high quality and a spare screw of each size is provided. The fit and finish is also first rate with each component - you can tell manufacturing quality is something to which Nouhaus pays close attention and Left/Right/Front/Back on each component is clearly labeled. My wife assisted with the assembly and we didn't have the near-divorce experience that comes with every IKEA purchase, so that also speaks volumes for the post-purchase experience! The rollerblade wheels are a nice, floor-saving touch. I'm still in the "honeymoon phase" with this purchase - will update this review if something comes out of the first few months of use. While not a cheap chair, it's half the price of a comparable Herman Miller Aeron and came with every feature I wanted and I feel worth every penny I paid.

I watched YouTube and read many reviews and it sounded so good. Finally made the hard decision to part with a not small amount for an office chair. First off, I’m 183cm and the headrest is short (or lower) a cm or two for a comfortable rest. Mesh suppose to be cool as many claimed, but for me it feel plasticky and hard. The seat is not adjustable much to the front so it “forces” me to push back my butt for a firm seat. Maybe there’s the idea of a good posture? Lumber support is non adjustable although I can feel the support as compare to my other non ergonomic chair. I must mention that the lumber support causes me problem as my belt keeps “hooking” it while I adjust my seating or standing up. Last but not least is the legs, which are very long (study and heavy duty which I love) and need getting used to as I knocked (it hurts) my ankle a few times when I started using it. On the good points, it is heavy, well build, good quality and feels like it will lasts.
