The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes 75th Anniversary Edition: An Easter And Springtime Book For Kids

I remember this book from when I was a little girl, so I was happy to buy a copy for my own kids. My 8 year old loved the story, but it was a bit long for my 5 year old.

Held interest of my 4 year old granddaughter as she was anxious to find out what happened to her. She was delighted that she helped someone and was recognized for doing good.

My adult daughters were delighted to have this childhood memory added to their book collection.

This was a favorite of mine as a kid and I shared my copy with my younger brother and two Sons over the years. Bought two copies to share with my brother and his young daughter this year and for a great friend that just had a little girl. Hoping they'll enjoy this wonderful story with their kids and pass it down too. I'm saving my "old" copy for my 1st grandchild.

I bought each of my new great children a copy for Easter! Made their parents smile!

The book was produced in the mid-twentieth century, and therefore has no underlying mind-influencing agenda, such as most modern books for children have, no preachy "this is what you ought to think and say" platform. The illustrations will enrapture any person open to non-cartoonish art.

I wanted a hard cover original version of this book for a gift. The book arrived in good condition, wrapped and a personal note and a small gift. This book is a very old book and was Not in Perfect Condition, but it was in very good condition. If you are expecting perfection, you should expect to spend a lot more money. This book will be part of the collection of books for this child. We will purchase a special book birthdays and other special occasions.I am very satisfied with this purchase and I would buy again.

I love stories that teach good lessons without being overly "worthy", and this story has it in spades. The bunny teaches her children to do all her chores - including singing, dancing and painting to make sure the home is a happy one. That way she can become one of the special chosen bunnies and deliver Easter eggs. Lovely illustrations, such a charming story, and not at all smug.

The story is a classic. The problem? They put a sticker over the front of the book which Doesn’t Come Off. Completely ruined as a gift, so I’m returning it.Next time - the cautionary labels should either be easily removable, or on the protective plastic wrap! It’s not hard.

I had this book when I was little and was delighted to find it again for my daughters. Wonderful illustrations and the story has always been encouraging. So pleased it is still in print - highly recommended!

A very sweet little book, I bought it for my niece and I at the moment she likes looking at the pictures, but as she gets older I'm sure she will love the story too.
