Harry Potter charm + tremendous replay value.
Granted, this is a Lego franchise game. It has the same frustrations as previous Lego games. BUT . . . IT'S HARRY POTTER! So that staircase you're having a hard time building . . . well, at least you're doing it with a WAND! The characters and cut-scenes are adorable and humorous (except creepier-than-usual Filch). This game will please fans of the story/movies with its accuracy. Familiarity with the Harry Potter story is almost a must for gameplay. For example, you may need a Ravenclaw prefect to access the Ravenclaw common room, Griphook's ability to open a safe, or Snape's impressive power to blast something. If none of what I just said makes sense, this might not be the game for you. It is appealing to Harry Potter fans of all ages. My game has been played by four people between the ages of 6-41. Player 2 can jump in or out at any time for a quick assist. Changing characters and spells is easy. Even fighting Volde---I mean, He Who Must Not Be Named--- isn't particularly scary or stressful. Competent gamers will finish the game---for the first time---in less than 12 hours . . . BUT most things are not unlockable/accessible on the first time through a level. You will be shocked to see your low level of game completion at the end of each stage. If you can't get to something on the first try, don't waste a lot of time on it. For example, don't worry about those large black balls you see everywhere, which don't seem to respond to any character or spell. They're for Snape. One kind of irritating feature of the game: the special abilities and sensors you purchase from the Owl Emporium must be enabled through the "Extras" menu each time you play. That slows you down a bit, but it's nice to be saved from falls and get 10X score, etc. Definitely read the instruction manual so you will know what to do with red bricks, how to purchase and upgrade things, etc. Enjoy! I wonder if my game will ever be 100% complete.

Great fun and hugely addicting!
I received this game for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and have done little else in my free time than play it. It is really fun and very addicting. I have not played any of the other Lego games, but I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and movies. I think that the game does a great job of immersing you into the wizarding world. You get to wander around Hogwarts and Diagon Alley. You get to learn and use spells. You can (eventually) play as almost any character from the series. Also great are the movie shorts at key moments in the game where the story is reenacted with the Lego characters. Cute and funny! Since I am not a seasoned gamer, it is also nice that you cannot really "die." If you walk off an edge or get stunned by an enemy too many times you simply "fall apart," lose some studs and come right back, as many times as it takes to get through the level. Cool bonus levels and a building mode where you can create your own playable scenes. It's easy enough for my 5 year old to play, but complicated enough for my and my husband. I love it!!

great game, many glitches!
I have now played the game twice through and love it, although neither time have I been able to reach 100% completion. THIS GAME HAS GLITCHES! The game is definitely worth buying, but before playing it I would suggest reading about the glitches in the game online so that you can avoid making the same mistakes I have made. The first time through I lost my entrance circle to the Griffindor Common Room. After some searching online, I was not the only person to have this happen. Apparently, if a non-Griffindor character attempts to enter the common room, the lighted circle will disappear and the portrait will just sing, never opening the door. The way to avoid this glitch is make sure you always use a Griffindor character AND get all the red bricks, gold bricks, and characters pieces, out of the dorm as soon as possible in case you loose the circle. I avoided this the second time around by playing the game straight through the story line and not playing the free play until after completing all 24 story lines. The second time around at this game, I followed my own advice and got to 99.9% done. Unfortunately I still need one character stud in order to 100% complete the game. That character stud is in Hogwarts castle, unfortunately what I didn't know was that when you build the last bonus level after finding all 200 gold bricks, if you immediately play the level, once you obtain Voldemort, you can no longer reenter the castle. Prior to building the last level I had 2 characters to find at 98.8% complete. When I realized I needed to go back to Knockturn Alley to find a character I did just that and built and played the level. Unfortunately the game does not warn you that once you play this level you are unable to go back to the castle. So, the game as it stands is complete at 99.9%. At first I thought maybe I was doing something wrong or once you have voldemort you need to enter the castle a different way, I did a search online and found many players ran into this issue. I really enjoy playing the game, these were 2 of the glitches I have encountered as well as the game freezing up on me a few times, but overall it is well worth the buy. I do have all the previous released Lego games with the exception of Lego Rock Band (which didn't interest me), I would definitely rank this game as high as Star Wars the original trilogy game. Star Wars being first and this being tied with Batman for second. It is definitely worth the buy and it will keep you entertained for hours, just read about the glitches first in order to avoid them.

Fantastic Game for Kids and Adults
Like all of the Lego series games, this is a fun game for both kids and adults. What's really nice is the fact that the characters never die, they just lose their coins. This means there is no frustration of starting a level all over again. My son is 5 and I feel he has learned a lot about problem solving and eye-hand coordination by playing these Lego games. There are plenty of opportunities to use problem solving skills to complete the level. There are hidden objects to collect and opportunities to go back and improve your scores, gather more coins, and purchase items for the game. My son frequently guides me on what needs to be done. This Harry Potter game is full of fun, but there is a glitch in one of the levels. For some reason, none of the enemies show up and there is no way to clear the level. There is a fix, though. Just use your favorite search engine and search for the level in question. There are plenty of sites that will teach you how to bypass the glitch and play the level properly.

I can't believe I missed this!
Wow, what a blast! Before I go into it, I should tell you that I am 20 yrs old and a woman. I'm not really a huge video game person, but once or twice a year I buy a game to have fun with. However I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and have all the books and movies, and when I was a kid I played with the HP lego sets. I'd seen this game in passing a few times, but it never caught my eye as something I would buy. I'm so glad I finally picked it up because it is a blast! You get to re-enact all the events from the books/movies...such as learning to fly a broom, knocking out the troll in the girls bathroom, and traveling by floo powder from the burrow to Diagon Alley! Along the way, you use your wand to cast spells, blow things up, and collect money. It is not a "violent" game, I hate those. It's more like adventure and exploration, as well as feeling like YOU'RE the character in the books! For reference, other games I have liked are Animal Crossing: City Folk, Harvest Moon Animal Parade, and Spyro Year of the Dragon (it's actually very similar to Spyro gameplay). My favorite parts of the game are exploring the castle and learning new spells. No kidding, this is my favorite Wii game ever! If you are a Harry Potter fan and like exploration/adventure games, you will love it too :D

Magically Addictive
I have always been a Lego fan since a small child and the video games help me relive those olden days. Also being a Harry Potter fan, this game is a most. It is not a serious type game, like the lego games before it, it pokes fun in certain ways. The visuals of hogwarts is amazing, along with the sound track and all the fan favorite characters, this is an awesome game. I found it to be very addictive and it was hard to put down once I started playing. The cool thing about lego games is that you can play as other characters and not just the main ones, being a Snape fan, I had a blast playing a Snape as I back tracked to find hidden objects. I will say that one negative thing about all the characters in the game, being a lego game most of the characters look the same. So playing as a regular student in Hogwarts wasn't the best but I have a feeling most people, when chosing a character to play, probably would choose a main character. It is just a fun game. I believe it is one of the best lego games to date and I can't wait until Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 comes out.

Happy Children = Happy Mom
My 9 year old son asked for this game for his birthday. We did the pre-order on his birthday. He was so excited he checked every 20 minutes all day for the UPS guy. He has played it so much since he got it. He loves it. The Lego Wii games have been "safe bets" for me. I don't have to worry about violence except the cute violence of Legos spilling all over the place. And the kids enjoy it, even my 16 year old son and his friend have played it all afternoon. It's also a great bonding time for my husband and my sons. They have enjoyed learning the game together and I like that it seems to encourage verbal communication between the boys when they are playing. I highly recommend any of the Lego Wii games but especially the ones with 2 players. I would love to see 4 player Lego games for the Wii and perhaps a little more physical movement from them, but for a safe, non-violent, non-sexual yet fun and interesting enough to keep them playing, Lego games can't be beat! Kudos to Amazon for the $10 "coupon" that automatically applied to the next electronic purchase I made. More Kudos to Amazon I got a $4 refund because the game premiered lower than planned.

Daddy - Daughter cooperative play
Ordered this game because my 5 year old daughter likes to play Wii with me, but we had never had a game that really worked for both of us at the same time. Either it was so simple that I found it boring, or so complex that she found it frustrating, or we were competing against each other (so I couldn't really 'play' without winning every time), or one of us was completely uninterested in the premise, etc. But we've read the early HP books together, and built stuff with Legos together, so this game seemed to have potential. And so far, it has delivered. She can do 90% of what needs to be done to solve levels on her own, but there's enough stuff to do on each level that I'm having fun playing along. It relies enough on the stories that Mom (who hasn't read the books) has a hard time keeping up when she plays, but is different enough that you won't solve anything simply by copying what you remember from the books/movies. We're not typical gamers, but this sort of game is why we chose the Wii over Sony or Microsoft in the first place.

Más de lo mismo. Es para usar en USA. Creo que deberían avisarlo, ce esta forma le evitaríamos disgustos a los peques.

Missleading descriotion from the seller
There is a bug on the game even if the seller confirm he tested it and there was no bug in the game. Very disapointed.
