So I was nervous, because I needed to get a good bowl and make sure that it actually sings well, but time is getting shorter. A couple of reviews also mentioned cosmetic issues, so, I was a little nervous, but hopeful. The bowl was delivered a half-hour ago. I opened it up and the first thing I noticed was the striker actually look pretty cool. It's packed in a foam cutout at the top of the box. Removed the next packing layer and the bowl itself was wrapped in plastic. Un wrapping it my reaction was basically, "What the-- how does this look so nice?!" Yeah I can see the human touch in the paint, in a couple of very tiny parts on the bottom, but that human touch doesn't detract from how great this looks, at all. Those pictures people posted that look so good are def not shopped. That's how the bowl looks. It shockingly great looking. And it's not tiny. Feels very solid, and the tone when struck is (happily) more mellow than I expected. So the big test: does it sing? I've never tried resonating a bowl before (just crystal wine glasses) but I got it going immediately. Holy cow, it's good. And the sound does undulate audibly (if you've watched some of the vids you know what I mean), which is fantastic. I'm quite pleased with the sound. Overall, I'm 100% happy to be gifting this to my wife. I was prepared in case I needed to return the item and instead go shopping at a local incense-stuffed "esoteric" store to find one for at least twice the price, but I'm glad that's not at all necessary. It is very easy to resonate this bowl, it's surprisingly loud (a good thing) for it's size and holds the vibration well. It has a very nice sound. It's heavier and thicker than a lot of other bowls of similar size. **Q: How long does this continue its tone after a good whirl? 5 minutes? 30 minutes? 2 minutes?** A: Maybe 1 minute. It works best if someone else is available to help. It does make a nice sound. **Q: What metals is this made of? Does it also contain lead?** A: Brass typically always has some lead content. All of my trumpets have lead in them for example. Do plan on licking it or using it as a soup bowl?
