What is the base made off ?

It is made of the same material as the target. If you shoot it it self heals as well. The adjustment screw is the same material also.

The video shows them not resetting. Do these auto reset as the title describes or not?

These 'auto reset' only if you mount them upside down. There is a picture (6th down) that details what they mean. If mounted right side up and shot, they fall down and stay down, until reset manually. There is no spring or other mechanical device in the base that resets the target (unless mounted upside down, and they then basically just swing when shot).

Will these targets work with a shotgun?

It depends on the shot you are using. If you are using slugs or 00 buck shot I would say no. We have used this with everything from a 22LR to a 45 ACP with no problems.

Fun substitute for steel!

Love these! Got these as a gift and have had blast. We are not allowed to shoot steel so this was the alternative. Very pleased! I think we may have shot them backwards a time or two without any problems. Highly recommended
