N**E
This is a guitar-inspired object, not worthy of even hanging on a wall.
So disappointed with this... I usually don't bother leaving bad reviews, but this one was so bad that even after waiting for an incredible amount of time to write it, I'm still offended by this purchase. Shameless. The craftsmanship on this was so bad, I wouldn't even recommend to get it for a non-playing wall decoration. It's like it was made by someone who'd seen a Yamaha silent guitar and wanted to build one without actually knowing anything about guitars... or woodworking. The one star given is for A) I can't give below a star, and B) the design/silhouette/shape of this guitar is actually pretty cool... that's why I bought it to begin with.I own quite a few very inexpensive guitars, most cost less than this thing did, to be quite honest, but this is the cheapest quality "guitar" I've ever seen let alone actually bought. The finish paint/lacquer was not great, which can be allowable on inexpensive instruments, but this was next level bad. The sanding work before the finish was even applied was a nightmare, and the worst part is that it made this thing, not only hideous, but totally unplayable. I can't even figure out how this thing made its way to the finishing booth. It should have been thrown on the cull pile and never heard from again. The "finish" sanding was so atrocious that there were beveled edges in the wood, which should have been basically square in places (well beyond just breaking sharp corners, which is usually done for comfort). The fretboard was a disaster. After the fret wire was installed, the next guy on the assembly line just went to town with an obviously pretty low-grit sand paper. I'm guessing they were attempting to bevel the fret ends, but rather than a nice clean 30 to 45 degree break on the end, if measured from the side of the neck, it was super shallow, maybe 15 or 20 degrees, if measured from the fret face! There were multiple frets on both the low E and high E sides that had very visible flat spots, basically tapers, to the end of the fret wire that started well inside of the string, and the strings couldn't even actually be fretted. An entire refret would have needed to be completed in order to make this play at all. However, there was no point in even bothering with that proposed refret, due to the aforementioned sanding problems to the rest of the instrument. It literally only took me about two minutes of evaluation to decide it was a waste of firewood and return the hideous beast I was sold in place of a guitar. It was so bad that I didn't even bother requesting a replacement. I could tell I would have just gotten a similar disaster with no hope for recovery, and I didn't want anyone to waste the wood, wire, electronics or energy to produce another one. A drunk toddler alone in grandad's wood shop could have produced something nicer.
