I'be been buying Tellicherry peppercorns for years, but decided to purcase these for a change. I am VERY happy that I did. They have a great, natural pepper flavor which is very strong. I've found that I have to use less pepper than usual because the flavor is so strong. It's REALLY good and has a very pure and awesome black pepper taste. True pepper flavor. I'd by agian in a heartbeat.

Pleasant mistake. I bought this bag on a whim. We go through a lot of peppercorn, and while I was sure we still had some, I decided to buy this because the price was so good. Well I guess I added 2 to my cart (I confirmed later that I did indeed order 2) because 2 arrived. OOPS. None will go to waste. The bags are vac sealed! I am really pleased with this. Nice bricks of well-sealed black peppercorns. I have never ever had pepper go bad, but fresh is definitely preferred. Such a good flavor! Now I have plenty of fresh pepper, and since it will take awhile to get to the second bag, I am sure the way this is packaged will keep this tasting just as fresh OH, hahaha.. I guess I really like this brand. I knew it sounded familiar, so I checked my order history. I have SEVERAL purchases from this brand over the past few years, and my reviews for each have been 5 stars. Now I am adding another.

Good fragrance easy to grind nice flavor

Because of the awesome reviews, I bought these black peppercorns with great enthusiasm. While I certainly think everything is great about them (packaging, freshness, aroma, price), I have to admit that I was not bowled over with the flavor. For me, they are bright and hit you right away, a good thing, but they don't carry through with the depth/finish that I get from Tellicherry. It's certainly hard to compare two pepper flavors in writing, that's the best I can do. I may try to combine them to see if I get the best of both worlds! Regarding Szechuan peppercorns with 2 recommendations for Chinese cooking on YouTube: I do look forward to trying these szechuan peppercorns. If you like you tube cooking channels, there are two Chinese women with channels, I can recommend. Both practical and entertaining. Both use a lot of szechuan peppercorns. Souped Up Recipes is one, she recently moved to the USA and does her videos in excellent English. I can't say enough good about her (Mandy), I have learned so much. The other is located in Northern China and she speaks Chinese, but the subtitles are perfectly sufficient. This channel is as much cultural as it is cooking, but this family loves food and cooks so much variety, from scratch. I've learned a lot from "Sister" Xia, even though there aren't step by step recipes. With time, I've figured out her go-to processes. Her channel is Xia jie from shanbei. Her channel offers so much insight into their lives...foraging, gardening, preserving, animal husbandry, the whole nine yards. Basically, you just get to see what they are cooking, whether it be an everyday meal, or a birthday. The family is happy and kind. If you want to feel good and see some real home cooking, give Sister Xia a look-see!

Very happy with this choice. Fresh. Bright, clean flavor with just enough lemongrass citrusy twang.
