What size do i need for standard piping in my house.

The 1½-3 inch size will wok for most residential indoor plumbing.

I just bought one, I think it's defective. The bladder filled/ inflated properly, but it did not pulsate/ vibrate. Is the vibration obvious?

Yes, in my experience the pulsation is very audible. You should not only hear it but be able to feel it. I have used these for years but have found that they are now very poorly made and often faulty. I even had one explode in the pipe which means that you have just added to your plumbing problems.

Will this work on a toilet?

No, I think it only works for a 3 inch pipe that is not a toilet. They make bigger ones, but not sure if it is meant for a toilet.

Can I return if it did not work?

its amazon. of course you can return if it didn't work but it most likely will and would be good to keep around for the future
