This provides instant grade information to the operator and eliminates the need for a rod man in the trench. It uses the patented light bar technology incorporated in the HL family of Spectra Precision laser receivers, providing more accurate and consistent readings than traditional methods and with fewer electronic components. It has a working radius of 1500 ft (460 m) (laser dependent) and a laser detection height of 5 in (12.7 cm) for quick beam acquisition. Six accuracy setting fit any jobsite requirements from Ultra Fine (1/32 in - 0.5 mm) to Machine Coarse (1.0 in - 25. 0 mm). Three Beeper Volumes include medium and low and loud to 110 dBA. Automatic shutoff after 30 minutes of non-use conserves battery life.
