Awesome strings
I bought these in march (it's now late October and the high e has just broke) and they've been great. They have a beautiful, clear, warm sound. They're very durable, I play a mix of fingerstyle and regular, and a lot of the songs I play are very rough on strings, but they survived through everything until now! They're really great on my fingertips too, a lot less painful after playing for hours straight. They hold their tuning really well too and have been fine being tuned up and down too! I'm really impressed and will definitely be getting again :)

Fingers' friends
Great strings, hold their tuning very well. Not recommended for frequent de/retuning as these are very soft and prefer standard tuning. Gorgeous sounds for fingerpicking, very clear and warm - would recommend for harder woods to expose the full range of tones from these strings. Great if you switch and dabble between nylon classical and steel as these are quite malleable and won't dig into your fingers as much.

Very good quality guitat string for your vintage instuments
Iv used these for years on all my guitars, due to the silk core they are very easy to fret, so if you have delicate vintage instruments, you may want to try these out of if you dont play guitar every day so you dont build up the calouses on your fingertips and you want the string to feel easy under your finger tips these may just be the strings for you however obviously they are not as loud as regular guitar strings, in my opinion they work well on 12 string guitar, i have 12 fret to body 12 string which is quite difficult to play with regular12s on it so i swapped to silk and steel and found it so much easier to play it was like night and day

Silky to play
Silk and Steel strings seem to mixed reviews. But I find that any loss of sound range - which some people claim - is more than compensated for by the silky smooth feel as you play them. I use them on a Martin CEO-7 and I find them just a dream to play. Its a bit more towards the easy feel of a classical guitar, but with a full steel feel sound. For me, this my string...I recommend giving them a try.

Guitar strings
I do like these strings and they are reasonably priced. Great sound so if you’re thinking of purchasing get on with it!

Not for me.
Always a personal thing, but these were recommended and I find them odd to use. For want of a better word, they are sticky. Your fingers don't glide over them, they seem to catch when picking. Surprised a Martin string doing that, but they will come off soon. They are oddly bright white on the guitar, too. Not for me.

Amazing quality, wears quickly
Some of the best stings i have used. Only problem is that, as with all silk and steel strings, they die quicker than usual steel.

I don’t know what I can say that hasn’t already been said in a million other reviews. These are great strings. I put them on my 53 Gibson LG-01. It’s a smallish concert body with ladder bracing. These strings put significantly less pressure on the bridge than traditional strings. Sounds just as good as thicker PBs. The tone is lovely.

Turned a 1950's classical nylon string into a blues bomb!

I use Martin silk and steel on my Yamaha acoustic guitar. I have used them for years and have never found a set of strings that suited my guitar more than these . I paid 75.00 dollars, new , in 1976 for my guitar and it has been used very often in all the years since. Martin silk and steel makes my guitar sound like a high end ,high cost guitar, it’s unbelievable.
