Excellent Shave and Great Quality!
Solid mesh shaver. It provides a smooth, close shave and is easy and comfortable to use. The build quality feels great, and it does a great job without irritating my skin. It’s reliable, well-designed, and makes my daily grooming routine quick and effortless. Definitely worth the purchase price.

Thrilled
First off this is a Travel Shaver and while it can certainly be used for daily use and do a fine job, it is not a $100+ razor. People expecting it to be such for currently less than $15 are simply being naive. If you have whiskers that give even an expensive shaver a workout, don't bother buying a battery operated travel shaver. You are not going to be happy. I'm not trying to be terse here, I'm just trying to keep it real. Now if you want a Travel Shaver that is lightweight, easy to clean, and does a very good shave for at least average whiskers, this is the one. Just don't expect it to be stellar at mowing down 2 or 3 days growth of your then brier patch of a face. Most shavers and especially travel shavers are not designed for this; so don't expect them to excel in this area. I have neither steel wool for whiskers nor peach fuzz. I would, however, guess my whiskers are a little greater than average for being problematic. As a result I normally like to shave with a blade and shaving cream, but I will once or twice a week give my face a break and shave with my full size electric razor. When I travel, however, I like to go as light as possible and decided I wanted a lighter Travel Shaver rather than my full-size electric. I wanted a foil razor (closer shave) and decided on the Panasonic ES3831K. I had a day and half worth of growth when I received it. I began with a splash of Pre-Shave (which is a must for a good electric shave) and started under my neck. I made sure my movement was against the grain and slow enough and light enough for the blades to do their work. I was amazed. While not as fast as my older full-size corded Panasonic ES8249, this shaver was giving me a surprisingly good shave in just a few minutes. Clean up is a breeze. At home I usually rinse the foil and blades under water; apply some foam soap from a pump to the inside of the foil head; reassemble and then run for 20 seconds; disassemble, rinse and let dry for the next use. Easy Peezy. I never use the brush that came with it. Many battery operated razors labor to cut even half a day's growth let alone a full day's. For my beard this is no problem at all for this higher speed shaver. While the Braun M90 has some cool features and one I strongly considered, it's blade speed pales in comparison to the Panasonic; is slightly heavier and more expensive. In the final analysis I thought the most important feature of any travel shaver should be how well it shaves and how long it takes to do it. If it falls short in this area, it really doesn't matter what other features it has. I wanted the best shave possible out of a travel shaver. So I'll end where I started, this is not a $100+ electric shaver, but for less than $15 I couldn't be more thrilled with the convenience and performance of the Panasonic ES3831K. If your expectations fall somewhere in the realm of the realistic, I am confident you will be thrilled too.

It’s ok. It’ll do. For the price and its compact convenient size. It’s good.
Well. It’s small, and compact, and all it has is one switch for one speed, and it works on AA batteries. Being as small as it is, it shakes like crazy, the vibration is intense, and since it has no extra head piece attachment with a suspension that moves around and shifts like other more expensive ones, the vibration on the face is intense, especially if you go near the bones in your face you really FEEL it LOL But it shaves well, at least for me. I don’t have thick hair, I shave regularly about every couple days, so for that it works fine. It is definitely very loud. You do have to go over the same area a couple times but that’s the same with most shavers. But dude to its intensity it does bang around the chin a bit and I got a bit chafed there. But not too bad. It’s perfect for travel, because you can just take the batteries out and pack it like that. But it doesn’t have a clipper for the burns so you’ll have to figure that out. But it’s good enough to trim the burns a little bit. For the price, it’s fine. My shaver needed the head piece replaced and it said it was almost $100 just for the head piece, which is why I decided to give this little thing a try. It’ll do for now.

Best electric shaver I've ever owned—15 months and still going strong.
***EDIT AFTER 15 MONTHS ***EDIT AFTER 30 MONTHS (SEE BELOW) This is still the best shaver I've ever owned—never irritates my skin, never pinches, and still going strong after 15 months. I use rechargeable batteries, top them up every few days, and the shaver keeps on keeping on. The foil and heads are still in excellent condition. I thought I'd have to chuck this after a year (or less) and buy a new one, which wouldn't be a big deal, since this entire shave costs one-third of what it used to cost just to replace the foil on my old shaver. But no. It's still working like new.*** I love this little guy! I have owned many different electric shavers over the years, from Norelco revolving blades to whatever was the latest thing. This little shaver gets the job done. So far, it seems to run for a long, long time on two AAs (I'll update my review if this changes). It was so inexpensive, I'll feel no need to pay good money (over $35) to replace the cutting blade and foil as I had to do every couple of years on my old shaver. When this wears out, I'll chuck the unit and buy a new one. Its biggest fault (but not worth removing a star) is that you really need two hands to turn it on...the push-button-slide arrangement is slick in my dry hands—I can't imagine trying to turn this on with wet or soapy hands. In fact, I can't imagine why you'd want to use this in wet conditions anyway. As some have noted, it does not have a trimmer. That does not bother me, but it's something to be aware of. It doesn't have a cord for recharging...it's batteries only; simple, lightweight, and effective. ***EDIT I have used this daily for 30 months now. It still performs like new. I have not changed the blade or screen. I have never used it wet, only dry. I use rechargeable batteries. Unfortunately, this has nearly doubled in price, so it is no longer the fantastic bargain that it once was, but it is still a pretty good deal.

Nope.
I usually don't give 1-star reviews or return products, but this time I'll have to. Seeing all the great reviews on how close of a shave it would give, I thought I couldn't go wrong with purchasing one of these just for the convenience as I have been using dollar-store disposables for years for close shaves with no problems; being sanitary, following the natural direction of the hair, and making sure not to over swipe has yet to fail me with skin problems or irritation. When I used this for the first time on dry facial skin, I was confused because it really wasn't cutting uniformly after about 5 minutes of trying. Although some hairs appeared to have vanished, I still had a very noticeable amount of hairs at least 5mm long hugging the sides of my face, chin and upper lip. Maybe they would go away if I tried going over them from multiple directions? Nope. Maybe trying to flatten out the surface of my skin by stretching it? Nope. Maybe a wet shave would work? Nope. My frustration eventually led me to try putting more pressure on the device against my face. Not only did this not get rid of the outstanding hairs, it really irritated my skin with a burning sensation. I sprayed a mist of rubbing alcohol on the shaved area (even more burning) and wiped it off with toilet paper and saw small splotches of blood. I have a cheap Wahl beard trimmer that I use to maintain my hair line. I also use it for shaving when I'm out of disposables that I'm willing to reuse. It has a clipper form factor, cuts close, and doesn't irritate my skin as nearly as much as this shaver did (although it still does irritate my skin to an extent). Although it's small, requires 2-3 passes, and not really suitable for a quick shave, it works much better than this product. I'm not sure what sort of hair type the majority of the users of this product have, but this definitely was not made for me. Instead of giving a "close and comfortable shave," it left me sitting with an incompletely shaven face that needed to be disinfected with rubbing alcohol and slathered in petroleum jelly. But I guess that's my fault, right? Nonetheless, it's really disappointing that this could not do what shaving cream and a disposable razor could do in one swipe. Perhaps I would have been better off with trying a higher-end model or maybe I'm just destined to use manual razors for the rest of my life. I probably should have filtered and read the critical reviews first as they mostly express the same issues but ... at this point I'm really hoping I don't get ingrown hairs from this.

small and extremely efficient
So let me start this off by saying that I am a woman. I am a true believer (whether it's true ir not this is my personal opinion and experience) that men's products for shaving are exceptionally better than women's. At a young age I started shaving as I was on the swim team and that was a requirement. Soon I realized that shaving my entire body wasn't the smartest route considering that very quickly I noticed a difference in the thickness and color of what was a mere peach fuzz. I switched to waxing for most of my body outside of my legs, pubic area and underarms. After much cost and A LOT of razor burn later I decided to try a different razor.... A men's razor, rather than keep cycling through the options I could find for women that gave me the same results. Immediately I was in love as my condition was exceptionally better. This is how I continued through most of my adult life. I recently moved to Tennessee and the heat and humidity often causes me sweat, which anyone with a fresh shave knows how painful and itchy that can be. So I,thought to myself, maybe an electric shaver would help with the prevention of such irritation. This is the first shaver I have bought and maybe I'm biased because its my first but I love this thing!! Its so powerful especially for being battery operated. It glides nicely on your skin and doesn't tug at any hairs. I was so excited about it after my first use that I ended up using this baby on my arms, legs, armpits, and down there. It worked perfectly all around. For review purposes and general use I did one side of my body using it dry and I did the other side using it while wet. I had significantly better results using it dry. As a matter of fact it actually hurt slightly, and tugged at my skin when I used it wet (maybe I did it wrong? ). Also. When I was using it in tough areas or I had a stubborn hair, I used it in a circular motion which worked very well and caused no,irritation to the area. I am considering getting one with more blades as I got the one with only one, but I don't know yet. I'm really quite happy with this and I think it also makes for a perfect gift for any guy (or girl) out there.

Good Shaver - but I had my disappointments
This is my first review on a product I bought off amazon. I normally am very happy with all my purchases. This one has given me ups and downs. First off I bought it April 17th 2016. It was shipped to me and declared delivered on April 19th but I never received it. I called Amazon and they kindly mediated with the USPS office and gave me a refund to purchase a new one. I finally received this items a few days later after it was recovered and it was delivered properly by USPS. It works well. The charge off the double AA battery is very good - I was impressed with the duration. You could easily go a solid 2-4 weeks depending on your shaving habits. Depending on your hair it will not catch those that lay close to your skin so a razor will be needed, but if you have hair that for the most part stick out it'll give you a good clean shave. I didn't mind doing a once over with this and then doing a straight edge, it was better for my skin. July 27th 2016 it stopped working all together. I switched batteries shook it and cleaned it, with no luck. I called Panasonic regarding the warranty. They ask you to ship with proof of purchase, meaning a receipt. They only pay for shipping a product back to you, so it doesn't really make sense to send a $15 shaver and pay for half if not as much to ship it. So now I have a shaver I liked that doesn't work and I'm not sure whether to order a new one. Send it for a warranty repair or buy a different brand/model all together.

Great value! (added comments)
So...full disclosure...have only used once. It was delivered today and I used it in the shower to shave my head (baldy, here) with 4 - 5 days growth. That being said, I had to clean out the blades twice but that's my fault for cutting hair that long. It was easy to clean out, though. I'm extremely happy with the shave. Closer that I could have hoped for, light weight, and easy to clean. I'll post again later after I've had it a few weeks. So...few months later. Still going with the 5 stars, based on the following: - Bang for the buck, can't beat the price! - No electric razor is as good as a blade, so this is good again for the price - Great for travel. Very compact, easy to pack

Powerful and does the job
I shave daily and tend to prefer the small travel shavers as they do a quick, decent job. I have finer hair and the growth isn't dense. This review is for those who don't grow wire brushes on their face. The immediate feel of the product is that it has decent weight to it - not overly heavy, but just feels nice in the hand (ie. doesn't feel cheap). It feels powerful and the motor is relatively quiet (nothing is super quiet, otherwise it's dead!). I shave daily so it does a great job of giving a very smooth shave - sometimes it requires one pass, sometimes a couple of passes, but overall, it's quick and did I mention the end result is smooth? Totally happy with the purchase. My partner on the other hand, couldn't get it to do anything when attempting to use it on a 3 day growth - thick and abundant facial hair. I'd previously used the Philips PQ206, which really didn't have a good feel in the hand and it didn't give a proper shave. I always felt that it would be just a temporary shaver (bought while traveling). One of the rotary blades eventually failed and I'm actually glad it forced me into buying a new shaver. The blade cover doesn't fit securely and will almost always pop off with the slightest bump (I eventually gave up using it). When searching for a new shaver, I mulled over the 3 contenders (Philips as previously owned, this Panasonic that's been reviewed above, and the Braun M90). Took me a couple of weeks of decision making but am pretty glad that I made the choice of the Panasonic. Needless to say the Philips was eliminated as a contender right from the start but it was one of the 3 most similar shavers. I've used Braun shavers in the past and would have purchased the M90 for the protective "flip cover" but decided to give the Panasonic a go based on reviews here ... I have no regrets on my decision though I am sure the Braun would have done just as well.

It is excellent! Better than those that used before. Very close shave and it didn’t cut into my skin and gave me a perfect shave.
