EWK 6.5L Pneumatic/Manual Oil Extractor, Oil Change Pump for Automotive

Best money I have spent lately. I always do my own maintenance on my cars and truck. Past several years I have not looked forward to the Transmission fluid and filter change. Seems that the manufacturers decided that we really don't need drain plugs on a transmission pan. It is a real hassle changing the filter and fluid with a full pan of fluid to deal with while you are laying on your back in the garage. I used this tool this morning to remove the fluid from the 4L60E transmission in my Chevy truck. So easy, I couldn't believe it. Remove the dipstick, insert the smallest tube in this kit into the dipstick tube a length equal to the dipstick. Connect the tube to the main tube on the extractor. I pumped about 6 times and the fluid began to flow. I stood there watching amazed at how it worked. Never touched the pump again. It took about 15 minutes and pumped 5 quarts and 10 ounces from my transmission. Once, it started to gurgle indicating that the pan was empty, I removed the tube from the truck and let it completely drain into the canister. Then I measured the removed amount to the quantity above and refilled my transmission with that much new fluid. I elected to not change the filter. If you wanted to change the filter, you could drop an empty pan after using this tool. My manual states that 5 quarts is required for a pan drop, so I know that I got all the fluid out. This about half of the fluid that my transmission holds in total. My fluid was nice and red and smelled OK so half is good enough for me. If you want to go another step, do the procedure again in a couple of weeks. I highly recommend this tool and if it ever fails, I will be buying another! The size is just perfect for what I needed, and the canister is heavy duty, appears very durable and everything connects easily. It just works like a charm!

Worked exceptionally well my only advice is that look at some of the videos for usage for some of the finer details. It might be apparent to some on attaching the hose and what that little lock ring is around the canister, threaded canister receptacle, and purge valve. If you know these things, you're good to go if you need a little bit of a tutorial of how they work in a video or two should get you there otherwise solid piece of equipment, it made very quick work of an oil change on a 2012 Land Rover LR four given the filter is accessible from the top and it already has a built-in siphon tube that goes to the bottom of the oil pan and connecting to that is really simple no need to remove the skid plates and lift the car and do all signs of other nonsense. Just plug-in play really

Literally took it off the porch, straight to the driveway and changed the oil in both of our Explorers. I cannot provide any long term reviews, but today, I love this thing. So easy to use, and not a drop of oil on the ground. Best part is, not jacking up both vehicles, taking off the underbody protection, and making a mess. Especially not laying in concrete. I work on cars all the time, but oil changes annoy me. This was just what I needed. I did not use the air inlet, but chose to use the hand pump instead. Took about 5-7 minutes for all the oil to come out. Pouring the old oil back into the container was also a snap, and no mess. I’m guessing I’ll use it about 4 times a year, and imo, the cost is absolutely justified. Not sure if it would work on all vehicles, so if you’re not sure, I’d suggest calling your dealership or a trusted mechanic.

Great product! Bought this to change my oil for my MK6 GTI in my apartment complex, as I was tired of putting my car on ramps or jacking it up at 2am to change my oil so nobody would see me doing it (and report me to the complex since this is a no-no). Pro's: • Very impressed with the "heft" of the cylinder, as I was quite frankly expecting it to be much lighter and not as good as build quality as this. • Did a decently quick job at removing the oil. Like people have said, this does take longer than letting the oil just drain out of the oil pan, so I was already prepared to be putting in some arm work with the pump. • Came with two different size hoses which both fit my car just fine. • As mentioned from others, it was VERY nice to stand there and change my oil without getting dirty. I was able to change my oil from the engine bay in about 15-20 mins. Con's: • Wish it came with a cap for transporting the oil. Instead the main tube has to just flop around in your car (unless you want to remove it and hope it doesn't tip over). • Wish the adapter hoses were almost the entire length of the tube (+60") instead of a 30" hose going into another 30" hose. Reason I say this is because it would help maintain pressure when there is little oil left. It became more tedious when there was barely any oil left and the hose was only half full. • Did not include instructions. The company has a pretty good Youtube video on what to do, but at least include a link to the video. The instruction sheet is basically a part list sheet.

Worked Really good on my Audi Q5 2022, it was quick and so easy. So much better then getting under the car took 15-30 min tops. It is thick and durable. I didn't get oil anywhere. It was easy to remove the oil from it into a bottle. It's not that heavy, but will last for years hopefully. Stable No leaks or nothing.

I don't give out five stars often...but this is a no brainer. If you have a Mercedes, this will pay for itself with you first oil change. Seriously, I have been changing oil in my cars for over 40 years and I just couldn't believe I never owned one of these. Just changed the oil in a C280 and didn't spill a drop of oil. Pumped out the oil in less than five minutes (if that); changed the filter insert; filled it up and was done within 15 minutes. Just for the heck of it, pumped out the oil from a Honda accord just to see if it would suck out most the oil from that pan as well. This pump drains more oil than using the drain plug. Sides are clearly marked with liters and quarts so it's easy to monitor your progress (hint use a flash light to check the oil level in the canister.). One flaw (with packaging not the product itself) there is zero, nada, zip, none instructions....just a parts list. HOWEVER, if you change your own oil you can easily figure it out....it's not rocket science. Items comes with three tubes ("straws"): Main tube connects to the pump housing; the second and third are attachments and they each have a difference outside diameters. I used the larger of the two for both the Mercedes and Honda and it worked just fine. It also comes with a "check stick" rod that I used to confirm where the bottom of the pan is. Example, for the Honda, the pump tube never bottomed out so you fed more tube down the dip stick tube than necessary. The metal check stick rod quickly showed the length of tube required to bottom out in the pan. What else did I like? Oh yeah.....the port to connect the main tube is also where you pour out the used oil. Whoever designed this said....why don't we make a little tiny anti-drip notch in this spout. Brilliant....I drained two cars 12 quarts of oil and didn't spill a drop! Genius....pure grease monkey genius. Did I mention that this thing is compact? OK....if you do this for a living then I am pretty sure there are many more robust pumps around. But, for us mortals....this is a gift from the oil gods. It is only perhaps 30 inches high and weighs five pounds. I didn't check the specs....but that's close enough. Also it's well made. Do I think your grand children will use it to change the oil in their autonomous cars?.....nope (lots of o-rings and little parts)....that being said, who cares, if you got your money back in two oil changes! Surely this will last.. dare I say.... 50 changes? Although this is very well made...parts are plastic...there are lots of o-rings.....plastic and rubber deteriorates over time so you can do the math. Bottom line..... Do I care? NOPE.... This will not only save you time and money (I think this is cheaper than other similar pumps) but, at least for a top located filter vehicle, makes the task sooooo much easier and faster. BTW.... some advice.... if you purchase the five quart jugs of oil (hint cheapest at Walmart) you can simply pour the used oil in empty jugs from your previous oil changes. For those skeptics...I don't know this company and I made my own independent decision to buy this EWK product based on the Amazon reviews. Kind of obvious....I was not disappointed.

Nothing about this was easy. This is my second attempt at an oil extractor for doing oil changes on my boat. I decided to replace the one I had (and no longer used) hoping the compressor attachment would make it relevant. It did not. It was worthless. Possibly it’s my own application but the directions and product description didn’t cover applicable restrictions. I also don’t just willy nilly things and made sure to watch lots of YouTube videos on how to use this pump before using it. And my application is straight forward. Securing the black plastic cap to the reservoir was my first challenge. It was so tight, I thought for a minute I had the wrong part. It required channel locks to get it on and twisted and then channel locks again to take it off. Getting down to the bottom of the oil pan was easy in my 5.7L merc. The smallest diameter tube was the one and it’s a hard stop as soon as you hit the bottom of the pan. Hooked up my 165 psi Dewalt pancake compressor, flipped the valve on and waited…nothing. Kept waiting…nothing. My DIY friend/mechanic was with me and expressed concern I was running the compressor so long it might cause the canister to suck in and implode on itself making a huge mess. I reminded him we had no oil yet so we let the compressor run and eventually the compressor ran out of pressure without drawing a single drop of oil. Read the directions which don’t have a lot of detail, but it’s also a simple operation that really only works one way. Confident we were doing it correctly, just like in all the videos I watched, we gave up on the compressor. Le sigh :-( New plan…the hand pump, same as the one I had hoped to “upgrade” from. After a 15 or so pumps we saw our first sign of oil coming up the tube. I was elated but also disappointed that we couldn’t get this far with the compressor attachment. My disappointment grew as I noticed the extreme slow rate of oil coming out of the motor. We pumped and we pumped and we pumped and after 45 mins decided we might or might not have got it all and went on to the filter. There really is no reliable way to know if the pump has finished the job. You can’t see in the canister and you can’t see to the bottom of the oil pan (obviously) The filter was in such a god-awful awkward place we were unable to get it with the wrenches we had so I ordered a different wrench from Amazon and put the project on hold for a couple days. Filter arrived two days later, but now it’s Tuesday, so i waited another couple days till the weekend. Being very concerned on our uncertainty if we had all the oil out, I decided to try the compressor again. Nope, no luck. So I went ahead and did the hand pump and pulled more oil out. Still not certain if I had all the oil, my concern succumbed to frustration and went ahead and Replaced the filter anyway. In total, I spent almost two hours waiting and wondering if I had all the oil out of the pan. The frustration with the non functional air compressor, and the black cap I have to use extreme force to get on and off, and the unbelievable amount of time spent waiting for the oil to come out, but no way to know if I got it all really soured my experience with this product and reminded me why I stopped using the previous one I had bought. I’ll continue to look for other solutions to do my own boat oil changes.

Pulls the oil out with ease, left about 200 mls in my car, I'll accept that. It struggled on my wife's car, the tube would not reach the bottom of the sump but I've used a crap one of these before so I have silicon tube that I attached to the tube that came with the "sucker" It settles in the hot oil into the bottom of the pan, job done. No more fighting on the ground with a sump plug, I'm getting too old for that and I've got four (family) cars to look after.

I finally had opportunity to use this AWESOME oil extractor , IT WORKS real good and real fast. I regret not getting this one years ago, it beats my older manual pump one hands down for both speed and ease of use as well as oil capacity. I highly recommend this to anyone in need of a easy to use fast oil extractor !!

This works very well. First time I used this to suck the oil out then raised the car and pulled the drain plug, nothing came out. Jetta, and Buick. Much less mess changing oil. Now I use it for my boat, lawnmower, snowblower.
