The Handbook of Gestalt Play Therapy: Practical Guidelines for Child Therapists

This is a good educational book that offers many Gestalt techniques for play therapists. It works through assessment to on going therapy to closure. It is clear consice and easy reading. I wished it had more techniques for on-going therapy that were specific instead of a general overal technique. The first chapter is very technical and theory oriented, but the following chapters explain the techniques and make the theory clearer.Overall it was a very good and useful book.

This book gave a functional layout and process of gestalt play therapy. It even has a section which provides examples of appropriate gestalt treatment goals and interventions.
