DELTA FAUCET RP12517 Delta Plumbing Replacement Parts, Chrome

Sometimes it may be difficult to determine internal components for name branded products that are not commonly found as third-party replacements at the big box stores. This ball and rod fit perfectly and was an exact replacement for the one that got broken during a renovation project that required removing the sink and vanity. I'm pleased that this worked perfectly.

This item was slightly shorter than the part replaced and required quite a few adjustments to try and make it work properly. The part replaced had more of a ball on the end and had more range of motion. The new part is half a ball which limits the range of motion. Hopefully the hassle with install will be worth it and the new plastic design will last longer than the previous part. The part replaced had the metal stem in the drain to raise/lower the stopper rust completely and disintegrate a few years after installation.

Worked perfectly with my Delta faucet

Absolutely poorly designed. I went to the Delta website, look at the schematics for what part I needed, ordered it, and it is a bit too loose causing it to leak at the pop up drain hope nut. Plus the took away a lot of the "meat" on the backside of the ball so it would have worn out very quickly. Go to the Delta website and read the reviews and you will see they know about this due to many complaints but they give the cut/paste "We so sorry for the inconvenience" excuse. I totally do not recommend them or Delta.

When we did a bathroom renovation in 2018 we installed all delta fixtures. The sink pop up was used daily until it broke in late October. This piece replaced the pop up actuator perfectly and the job took less than 5 minutes.

These work great...wish I had been able to find the 8" version from Delta but all I saw here were the 6 and 10. This shorter/standard length worked but it was a little more hassle to get it working smoothly with the drain installed on the sink. I'm not sure if these parts from Delta these days are necessarily any better than other non-OEM brands but it seems just fine. Couldn't find this locally, which...well what the heck. Glad it was available here and quickly.

Perfect fit. Make sure you know the brand of stopper you have - everyone has slightly different sizes for balls and rods. And they say size doesn’t matter. Pshh. If you don’t want water squirting everywhere, make sure it’s the right rod so you have a nice tight fit.

Bought to replace Delta drain rod that I melted with drain cleaner. But, never could get retaining nut tight enough to keeep drain plug in sealed position. Just replaced with Delta parts from whole drain assembly that works - able to tighten retaining nut enough to keep rod from releasing & draining water. Looking at this replacement, suspect it isn't true Delta - no Delta logo on bag & structure is different. Back of ball is only 4 ribs vs full ball in the Delta drain kit. Your mileage may vary.
