Something Fishy This Way Comes: The Artwork of Ray Troll

Ray Troll’s art is strange. If you enjoyed Gary Larson’s The Far Side, Ray Troll’s work is very different but tickles all the same pleasure centers. Half the pages I want to put in cheap picture frames and leave in strange places, half of it I want to save for my scrapbooks.

It would seem that Ray Troll and I are warped in the same direction! The artwork, and puns are a fine source of amusement for some of us, and elicit a shake of the head from others - and I am definitely in the first group. What can I say - I like fish.

It's wonderful to get to closely examine so many of Ray Troll's amazing paintings.

My husband has one of the artists T-shirts from the 80,s. He wanted a new one of the same design but those are not made anymore and the "vintage" ones are really expensive. I gave him this so he could just gaze at the pictures every once in a while!

RayTroll is a wonderful, creative, imaginative artist with a great sense of humor and a deep and detailed knowledge of fishes. Full disclosure: I also consider him a friend. But that doesn't affect my appreciation of the witty, beautiful, and fanciful images throughout this book. It is a delight.

It was the cover that first drew me and made me curious to see what was inside. I was not disappointed. Ray Troll's art is fun and clever and spiritual and meaningful and superficial all at the same time.

I really like his style of art and his sense of humor
