It’s 1969, and things have taken a darker turn for the old Cowley team. With Endeavour (Shaun Evans), Thursday (Roger Allam) and the gang now scattered across Oxfordshire, it takes a series of brutal crimes – including the death of a young schoolgirl, a fatal act of sabotage, a deadly campaign of gossip and rumour in a picturesque village and a murder at the Bodleian Library – to reunite them. Now joined by former adversary DCI Ronnie Box (Simon Harrison) and his sidekick DS Alan Jago (Richard Riddell), the gang must battle crime and corruption to finally solve their greatest challenge.

Superb Season 6!
I've enjoyed all the seasons, but Six was exceptionally well done. Great acting, engrossing plot, and overall quality direction. My goodness, this is such a great series...can't bear to think it is coming to an end soon.

Endeavour Keeps Getting Better and Better
I have a feeling we are getting close to the end of this series—not from knowledge but from the heart. Of the Original Morse, the spinoff, Lewis, and now the prequel, Endeavour, this one is by far the absolute best. It’s unique to see what happened to Morse (Endeavour) in his early years, whether fiction or not. This Season has, in my honest opinion, had Endeavour finally grow up not only by age, by again almost facing death, but losing someone in his life he wasn’t particularly close to. Yet he has learned that all human beings we know, like them or not, (Morse really does’t care for anyone except for Lewis in the Morse series) and precious yet vulnerable. And when they are killed right under your bloody nose (so to speak), he gained an emotion he really did not know he had. He even chews others out when they don’t seem to care, even though hell tells his Superintendent-to-be when asked about finding Fancy’s killer, ‘Does it matter.’ He knows it does or rather, he learns it does indeed matter. Morse, in this series, grows up and matures into a real man. What the powers that be do next season will be a surprise.I said I felt the series is coming to an end! Well, obviously, there will not be 40 more seasons until we catch up to were we started with Morse in his series. But I really do hope that it will continue for at least 10 seasons to complete the work started. This is a true Ring Cycle that Wagner would have appreciated. And Morse did love Wagner’s ‘Der Ring Des Nibelungen.’

One of the best detective shows I've ever seen
I rarely purchase TV shows, but I bought all six seasons of Endeavour. Everything about it--from the writing, the storyline, character development, acting, cinematography, and, well, you get the point-- is first rate. Honestly, I found the British accent difficult at first, or perhaps I simply didn't understand everything that was happening. Because I watched the whole series a second time (and no, I don't sit home all day watching TV), and I enjoyed it even more the second time through. Layers revealed themselves, I noticed details that had escaped me the first time, and the characters came to life even more. As much as I love this series, I honestly wasn't thrilled with the two episodes of the famous "Morse" series. I'm not sure why, but I won't be buying any of those seasons. This is something quite different. And I can't recommend it highly enough. One of the elements I most enjoy is the sense of time, from the late 50s (I think) through the early 70s, with a sense of history, of color, popular culture, and much, much more. If you don't love the first episode, try another. I found I got hooked much more deeply after the first few episodes. Instead of repetition, each show further develops plot lines, characters, and the movement of time. Fabulous show.

Disappointing and going rapidly downhill with each new show of this series. 1-5 are great, 6 sucks.
We have enjoyed this series a lot but this last season is a big disappointment! The characters are all coming out of character trying to stay with the series writers making this into another soap opera! Just awful! The only character to grow is former superintendent Bright. Only he seems to get that there are standards to up hold - and they are worth standing up for, while most of the rest are busy being overly stupid! Pretty sure we will stop watching and just enjoy the old episodes.

Another Excellent Season of Endeavour
Another great season of this well written program. The acting is superb as always and you are really rooting for the main characters., and the intricate plot keeps me gluedTo the screen This is some of the best television on today. I highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of the murder mystery genre. Can’t wait to get started on season 7!

Love, love LOVE Shaun Evans!
What is it about him? I can't look away! His character's complex personality always keeps me guessing. The plots are well-written and the acting excellent (entire cast). Roger Allam and Anton Lesser are both excellent, and we get to see a different side of Mr. Lesser's character, which I found particularly enjoyable. Only wish they'd make MORE episodes of "Endeavor" - I'd watch one every night if I could! Please keep 'em coming. Eagerly awaiting Season 7!

only 4 shows, disappointed, but love it.
I can't get enough of this show, only thing bad about it was it was only 4 shows, but they are geared up for season 7. I seen the review where they were trying to keep it special and do a 6th season, and work in the timeline for everyone.if you love the show, it's a great value for the price, about 1.5 hours each so for price of 6 hours of entertainment it works.

Can’t WAIT for Series 7!
I adore Endeavour anyway, so it’s hard to find something not to like. Big changes, things resolved, things going forward, making ready for more. As usual, Endeavour leaves me wanting more. I don’t want to leave a spoiler so I won’t say whether or not I was left wanting to scream at Inspector Thursday. I will say I can’t wait for Series 7. This is the ONLY series I pay for!
