Ultimate Spider-Man Ultimate Collection 4

I first got into Ultimate Spider-Man a few years ago, knowing that it was good for a casual reader like me. The benefit of the Ultimate line is that it is a modern update on characters that is self-contained with a definitive ending, similar to the New 52 in DC comics, so it's a great entry point without being too daunting. More specifically, this Ultimate Spider-Man series is one of the best takes on the character I've read, and is really a great updated saga on an iconic character. I absolutely loved it.But ,that being said, there is a major word of warning for anyone buying this version: THIS ULTIMATE COLLECTION LINE STOPS HALFWAY THROUGH THE SERIES. As of the date of this review, the series stops at volume number 7, and there is no indication that it will continue anytime soon with a volume 8 and beyond (its been years since the last volume and no updates on the publisher on the next volume). What this means is that if you were looking to read the full series in physical form, you have to fill out almost half of the Ultimate Spider-Man run with single trade paperback volumes 15-22 after this ultimate collection stops, which can be incredibly costly depending on the availability of volumes. I haphazardly got into this collection without knowing that it did not continue, and was left hanging partway. In retrospect, for a series of this size, I would have read everything digitally, or gone about it some other way, if I had done more research.TL;DR- This take on Spider-Man is an incredibly enjoyable comic book series in a collection that, at least as of now, stops in the middle of the series, leaving you hanging and forced to finish the story through potentially more expensive means.

Ultimate Spiderman is the best thing Marvel has done in a long while. Part of that reason is Ultimate Spiderwoman. Having a male brain (Peter Parker) in a female body is a great concept that is underused by Marvel. Frankly, there's more too the sexes than which bathroom to use. The character could be a rolemodel for GLTB youth you are at risk of suicide or running away by having this character face and deal with similar issues: who does she date, coping with a female body when previously male, how to interact with other people and, since the character is homeless, issues dealing with youth being homeless. Pity Marvel is getting rid of the Ultimate Universe since it rebooted everything in a fresh new light. Nonetheless, get this series as it'll improve your personal library.

This is perfect for collecting Ultimate Spider-Man and a good read. However my copy came with folds in the bottom right hand corner. Thankfully the main pages are still readable and the colors aren't distorted. This is a minor issue with the book but I still recommend to comic fans and Spider-Man fans!

Book came in excellent condition and is a very fun read. The Peter/MJ story arc gets far more engaging and emotional while Spider-Man faces off against an old foe and makes a few new friends along the way. Definitely consider picking this one up if you’ve read the first three ultimate collections or bought the omnibus. My only complaint is that this book is missing issue 46, but this issue is in book 5 which doesn’t make much sense.

Just to clarify the incorrect amazon description, book #4 from the Ultimate Collection series collects Ultimate Spider-man #40-45, and 47-53.The book itself remains very good. I'm assuming that you've read the previous books to get here, so you know what you are in for. These stories here are a little slower than the earlier books (Peter still coping with life as Spider-man, and all that goes with it), but still an enjoyable series.

Just Buy it! This book is awesome! It really nice to have the a the ultimate collection, at least for me I didn't have to wait much for what happens next because it had more than your usual number of issues in a volume. It gave me some laughs just like the other issues did. Give it a try, for me it was easy to have about 13 or 15 issues all together back to back.

This arc is a bit less interesting than the previous and the following.The adventure with the X-Men and the rest of it does not add much to the whole story of the character.

The most exciting , fast paced and action packed series of everyones favourite wall crawler. This book follows up from the Ultimate Venom storyline . Peter Parker meets the X men and other mutant in school .Also features the introduction of villainess ??!! Black Cat and a modern day retelling of the original Stone Tablet story .A good buy and arrived packed well .Thanks
