5.25" Indoor/Outdoor Weatherproof Patio Speakers (White- Pair)

Background: We own some waterfront property. The house site is fairly remote from the waterfront and dock area. I wanted a simple to uses, amplifier free sound system that I could use in that area that would not require my taking a portable battery powered speaker with me when I was down in that area.Out of the Box: The speakers were well packaged and protected. Everything you need is in the box to get started including a rubber coated speaker wire set to interconnect to the two speakers.There are no mounting screws for the speaker brackets, so you will have to supply these yourself.Installation: The bracket mount was easy and straight forward. the connection of the speaker wires is through a standard RCA speaker connector. This is the type that you unscrew and put the wire in the whole and then tighten the nut. The power cable was a two prong plug with a circular weather protection nut that locks it into place. The setup is a little cramped on the main speaker, but nothing that is not manageable.It I had any suggestions it would be to have mounting locations for the power supply and the ability to to have longer power cords to the speaker.Use: The speakers identify themselves as "Bluetooth" when you scan for them on your phone or pad. If I had a suggestion, it would be to give the speakers a unique Bluetooth identifier to make it easy to sort out what is what on your device. The speakers linked quickly and the signal pairing was good for 25 to 30 feet. The volume is controlled by the transmitting device. Iwas able to pair both Apple and Android devices without issue.Sound Quality: I am no expert in this department, but the sound was good to my here. I did notice some distortion if you turned these all the way up and, as with all bookcase speakers, the bass is underwhelming but comparable with other speakers of this size and price point.Volume: I was able to get sound that overcame a small generator and work tools with no real issues.Other: As some other reviews have stated, it would be nice if these had a sleep and wake mode. I overcome this by plugging them in and then unplugging, but it would be nice not to have to do this each time they were used. Also keep in mind that the time you can play music is limited by the battery of the device that is transmitting.Summary: This is a good solution to outdoor speakers in a remote application that has power available. I would purchase these again and recommend them to a friend.

My echo dot was able to find AND connect to these speakers - can't say that about some of the others I've tried. Quality of sound is very good & plenty loud. I'm no audiophile, but I had another pair & these speakers blow them away. Unless you're Dr. Dre these should work just fine for the average Joe. Connectivity with Alexa is great (although mine are on full time) & they've survived a winter storm or two (mounted under patio eves). It's only been about a month, but I love them so far. My only complaint is the speaker wire is too short (10 -15 feet - ish) & had to buy my own.

Speakers received a few days after order. Nice looking design and great sound for the money. Easy to install and sync. Had them up and on in fifteen minutes. Noticed a vibration (loose screw sound) during all volumes from main power unit. I contacted the seller (AV Express) regarding the product. They were quick and easy to deal with. Very apologetic for the speaker issue. They sent out a new set the same day and advised I could use whatever I needed from the new box along with a return label for the defective ones. New set sounds great. I will buy from this company for all my electronic needs. Thank you for the outstanding customer service AV Express!

These are great speakers for your patio! I loved them and they are perfect for backyard/pool fun. Great sound quality, clear blue tooth connection, and easy to set up. The range on blue tooth is about 20-25 feet so if you are going to be further away or have obstructions you might need a booster, but works great for my needs as they are right in covered patio where my phone is anyway while in pool. Just something to keep in mind though, as if i have my waterproof case on my phone when I am floating around I do wish it was a little bit better range as i sometimes get feedback from far side of pool, or my leg gets in the way. For other reviewers that complained about sound volume this is a 30w system (this product) there is a 200w (next step up $199 same product just bigger). although when I set them up I wished they had the ability go louder, it was perfect for my yard and max volume is probably the max acceptable volume before I disturb my neighbors. Anyway it ended up being okay for me but if you have a bigger yard or space or really want to have ability to slam music then spend the extra $60 and get the juiced up version.

I waited several months to review these speakers because I wanted to see if they would do ok in our harsh Louisiana summers. I’m very surprised and pleased to say they work great. You might get better sound out of higher dollar speakers but we didn’t want to spend a ton of money for something that would be outside in the weather. All in all it’s a great buy.

What is needed to know about the speakers is the Bluetooth does not like being far away from its Sound Source. For example if you are connected to your cell phone every time I got between 7 and 10 feet I would lose connectivity.To be Fair perhaps The Limited Bluetooth range is due to its very rugged durability for outdoorsThe speakers are both rugged designed to be waterproof to correct specifications in my opinion and have very good sound for the cost reflected of the speakers.Ultimately this will work if you can keep the Bluetooth Source very close to the main speaker.Additional note with Alexa.These speakers do not have a volume control knob so when using them with a Alexa program or connecting them to a firestick you are subject to only the automations ability to increase volume which is not near to what the speaker is technically capable of. In other words they won't be loud with Alexa.In closing I think they are a decent product they're just not right for me based on real life experience versus what I read them in description.
