After using the Airfree for only a few days, we started noticing an immediate difference in the quality of the air in our rental condominium. The musty, stale odor that would never dissipate was gone. We placed the Airfree in the main living area and one in our bedroom. The main area of mold is in the basement. However, having these two filters in the home has made a huge difference. While we are seeking a new living environment, these purifiers are making the situation more bearable while staying in this rental. I highly recommend this product if you are in need of a purifier that can achieve 100% efficiency at destroying allergens, mold, viruses, bacteria, dust mites, pet dander, organic pollutants, pollens, tobacco, and ozone pollutants. One nice feature is that the Airfree uses Filterless technology so you won’t have to invest in extra costs of purchasing replacement filters. The purifier is completely silent. I was worried that any noises from the Airfree would keep me up at night since I’m a light sleeper. However, I’ve had no issues sleeping with this quiet purifier. It has a night light feature which is a blue light that provides enough lighting to see, but is also not too bright to hinder sleeping. I like that the purifier is small and easily portable. It is a low energy consumption purifier that is clean and environmentally friendly. There are no ozone or ion emissions. I purchased this because my home contained visable mold and who knows what's hidden behind the drywall. In addition, the lower level of the home often had a funny smell (not really moldy, just funny, kind of earthy), and since I moved, the dog and cat are really itchy. I read one of the reviews for this product on another site where someone had a mold remediator come in 4 times and it didn't work, so I decided to try this first, since it's cheaper, and it is supposed to remove more than just mold. I plugged this in in the family room on the lower level. It originally gives off a mild burning smell that subsides after a few days. Soon, the lower level of my home had no more funny smells and both the cat and dog prefer to sleep in that room as opposed to all other rooms. I just ordered a second one for the mid level of my home and plan to get a smaller one for the bedroom. I'm very pleased with it. Don't know that it got rid of the mold, but it did get rid of the smell and both the dog and cat think it's doing a good thing, since they had no interest in that room prior to the Airfree. To me, that says a lot. Ok, had to edit this because I got the second airfree for the living room level and that's been running about 2 weeks now. They say it takes a month to work, but my itchy dog, who had rubbed all the hair off her eye and had large scabs on her rear by her tail (the vet was the one who originally put the air purifier idea in my head) has stopped rubbing her face, her eye's no longer red and it appears that the hair's even making an effort to regrow and all the scabs on her rear are gone! She's not on any meds for this either so that's not the cause of her improvement. This is more than I could have hoped for. She's much more comfortable and will now hang with us in the livingroom. I just ordered a small one for my bedroom. Now we'll see how it does on my morningtime stuffy nose :-) Ps. still no funny smells on the lower level!

When it works, it is very effective. My allergy symptom is noticeably better. This thing has a temperature sensor that will shut off the heating element when it thinks it is "too hot" . The problem is that the senor has a tendency to get stuck in the "too hot" position. When it does that, the heating element will stay off, which means the unit is useless. I tried opening up the unit and cannot find a reset button. Finally, out of desperation, I unplug it and put it in the freezer for an hour to make sure it 'knows' it is "too cold". Amazingly, after I took it out of the freezer, it started working. The nice thing is, to do this trick, You don't even need to use a screw driver to open it up. Nice! I put a thermostat near the top of Airfree, it is reading 92F and still raising. If your unit has a lower reading, it is probably not working. Some reviewer reported that Airfree does not work if you have a HVAC system, due to fast air circulation. I can offer a one data point that shows it _can_ work provided some conditions are satisfied. My home have a multi-zone set up, the zone I am using Airfree in is about 800 sq ft. I use two Airfree unit for this zone. I do have the AC for this zone "on" most of the time. Since the windows and the door in this zone are closed. Even with the almost constant air circulation, it is basically still a closed system. It is working fine for me. ***Note to Airfree design team and QA team. This is a great unit, but please fix that annoying temperature sensor!!!

I live in Hawai'i where mold and mildew can be a problem. I had a brand new closed off walk-in closet that, a year ago, was beginning to develop a very strong and unpleasant moldy smell and all of our clothes were picking up that smell. Yuk. So I bought this and put it in the closet ... six months later the smell was diminished and a year later the smell is gone! Yes! I bought a second for our bedroom and since plugging it and letting it do its' thing I have seen no mold or mildew anywhere. I am back today to buy a third for the living room because it is the 'wet season' here now and these keep the mold away. If you have mold and mildew problems I can recommend this filter, although you need to pay attention to the recommendations for the square footage they cover and you may need more than one. Yes, they are a little pricey but no maintenance, no additional parts or filters to buy -- ever? So worth it!

Airfree Onix 3000 Air Purifier On paper the Airfree Onix 3000 is astounding. No moving parts, heats air automatically pulled inside to 400 degrees F, where it basically destroys mold, bacteria and more. The air in your house will be clean fresh and smell wonderful. How great is that? Turns out not so much. At a price of $299 I assumed the Onix would be made of porcelain, graphite or some other heat resistant composite. I mean the inside heating element is made of steal. I was shocked to discover the onix is made out of cheap plastic. Oh, and it smelled to high heaven even before we removed it from the box. Thinking the smell would dissipate after the Onix had been on for a while, we plugged it in. Within minutes the room was filled with the odor of burning plastic. After being plugged in for the entire afternoon, the smell was so bad it made EVERYONE's eyes water. Suffice it to say we unplugged it, at which point we learned the Onix was almost too hot too touch. (So much for cooling off the air before it leaves the Onix) It took a few hours for the thing to cool down enough so we could repackage it. I worry the Onix runs so hot that it represents a fire hazard. While the Onix did reduce odor in our sitting room, the smell of burning plastic was worse than any pet smells. We have since replaced the Onix with an Austin Air Bedroom Machine. (see link) It works, removes smoke, smog, dust, VOCs and makes the air smell fresh.

I can hardly rate this properly. I can't tell if it actually does anything or not. Very expensive for what you get. I expected it to be twice this size. It makes no noise at all. The blue light doesn't bother me at all. It may be working well, I just can't tell and it's too costly to put one in every room. Cut the price in half and I will try another one.

Ive had this for quite a while now. I initially got it because of a stored food item that wasnt packaged and went seriously bad. It turned into a large fungus and left a strong odor in one room. It only took a few days for the Onix to eliminate the odor forever. As a note, I dont believe this device really removes dust, as it has no filter. What it does is kill micro-organisms with heat. So if your problem is dust, this is probably not the unit for you. If youre worried about mold, fungus, virus, bacteria, etc, it might be right for you. To address some concerns Ive heard: Some people say you cant tell if its working because it just has an led and makes no noise. However, you can easily tell if its working by the heat if you put your hand near the top. I read where someone said it released strong fumes. For the first couple days it did leave a pretty strong plastic smell, similar to one you will get if you smell the ventilation off a television set but stronger. It completely went away after a couple days. Some complain that air doesnt flow through it so it cant do anything. But, so long as it eliminates particles that happen to pass through it, it is doing something. Particles will tend to disperse throughout a room and will keep entering the device until the overall level in the room is low. It may take longer than a purifier with a fan, but I dont see that as a problem since it stays on all the time.

This sanitizing machine has worked so much more quickly than I thought possible. Within two days of operation my entire family stopped sneezing and started feeling better. The air in our home is noticeably fresher as well. We have had an ionic pro for years which has always done well with dust and pollen, but did little for mold, bacteria, and viruses. The P3000 has made a huge impact on the quality of life in our household. Operation is silent and has a very pleasant cobalt blue light. My kids say it looks like a space capsule. Not having any maintenance to perform is a big bonus as well. Will be buying a second unit for the upstairs next month. Looking forward to an illness free future.

This product is easy to use and enjoy the fact that I do not have to replace with any filters. I plug it in and forget it. The display colours are an extra bonus. The one thing I really love about this product is that I noticed the subtle odour in my apartment unit was gone. I come home, enter my unit and absolutely no smell of mold or whatever that smell was which I could not get rid of. I recommended this product to my friends and family. It really works. In fact, I bought another one for my bedroom.

I have had this machine plugged in for 4 or 5 weeks now. I have been suffering from excruciating headache in our home that we bought 6 months ago. I am still not sure what is causing these headaches but two things I suspect are hold and formaldehyde. I had someone come in to my home to do some testing for mold twice so both times I unplugged the machine for a few days so as not to affect the test results. My headaches had been getting a bit better but as soon as I unplugged the machine they would come right back in full force. It takes about a week after I plug it back in to improve the air enough that my headache starts to gradually decrease so I did take off one star since it does take time. There is also a strange smell coming from my kitchen drain which gets better when this machine has been going for a while. I know that in my case it is not fixing my problem, I need to find and deal with the sources of my allergy/sickness, but I do believe it works and does what it says. I appreciate that it is silent as well. I am thinking about getting two more for my basement and top floor as well.

It had been on my wishlist for a long time and I’m delighted with the Airfree Onix 3000! I could feel it working within the first half hour. It also has a slight drying effect on the humidity which, for me, is an added bonus.

Have had it for just a few days. I presume it does what it is supposed to because can feel a small warm breeze coming off the top vent. Does it do all that stuff it is supposed to? I can only presume so because there is no way to measure it. Maybe in a few months there might be an improvement noticed. As well, there was a big delay in shipping, more a couple of weeks. I had ordered the 3000 model and received the lesser priced 2000 model [Just one or 2 less features] with no offer of a refund. I think it does what it is supposed to, but ........I would not recommend it. The service was atrocious.
