iDesign Large Sink Mat for Bottom of Kitchen Sink - Clear

Not sure why the "Top Customer Reviews" are from about 2 years ago rather than much more recent reviews. Also not sure if this is a different material than received by those who gave past reviews indicating staining and odor. Considering these reviews, we only purchase one to see how it worked in our sink. We have not been disappointed! With the clear Sink Saver we received there has not been any issue with either smell, staining, or floating, and we've had it for over 2 months now. Again, it could be made from an updated material over those purchase 2 years ago. There is also a possibility that we've not cooked certain foods which have caused the staining experienced by previous reviewers, but we have rinsed spaghetti sauce and other similar 'colorful' foods through it, and ours has remained clear and odor free. We clean it weekly with Scrubbing Bubbles, and that has worked very well also. We did need to cut a hole to match the drain hole location of the sink, but being shipped without a prefabricated hole allowed us to cut the exact size and location we wanted. Picture 1 is the original picture posted with the original review. Picture 2 shows the condition of the Sink Saver after 2 years Picture 3 shows the condition of the sink after 2 years being protected by the Sink Saver. There are minor scratches more visible at the sink than in the picture. I can only imagine what the scratching would be like without the Sink Savers. We're ordering replacements today!

I had what I think is a mat from this same company for many years. This mat is nice and thick and fits my sink perfectly. It is a quality product.It was well worth the price. Some reviewers commented that it had a nasty smell. Mine has no smell whatsoever. It looks very nice and seems like it’s going to hold up well. My previous mat did eventually start yellowing, but that was after many years. This mat is crystal clear. I just received my mat, so I’m not sure about stain resistance, but I will update my review in 6 months if I remember. My previous mat was fairly stain resistant, but I always rinsed it off after it was exposed to tomato sauce. Most of the other mats on Amazon are made of PVC and aren’t dishwasher safe. This mat is a different kind of plastic that is dishwasher safe. That is important to me for hygiene reasons. I put my mat in the dishwasher weekly. I don’t want anything growing on it, like bacteria, mold, mildew, etc. I’m very happy with my purchase. UPDATE I have had this mat for about 3 weeks now and I did notice a slight smell but it’s going away. We poured red spaghetti sauce in the sink and the mat was soaked in it. I put it in the dishwasher but it is slightly stained. I think it will fade with time. I would still purchase this mat I love the plastic it made of. It’s very pliable thick and the mat stays in place. It has tiny nibs on the bottom so water drains under the mat.

I liked it, it fit well however, after the 3rd week my wife poured the remnant of a soup she had down the drain and it stained the mat. We've tried bleaching, scrubbing with soap etc but we can't get it out.

This is a nice, thick, well-made sink mat. It's glossy black and nicely flexible, not a stiff, cheap plastic at all. The holes don't necessarily allow for larger pieces of debris to fall through into the drain, but you really need to pick any mat up and clean it regularly anyway, so I don't think this is an issue, at least not for me. My primary concern was to protect my nice new white porcelain sink, and to guard against breaking glass or ceramic dishes when I hand-wash these items. The mat was a little large for my basin, but no problem! I carefully trimmed it until it fit perfectly, and it looks great. Because it's black, I don't think I'm going to have any problems with staining, and since it's glossy, it seems to repel anything from really sticking. I simply spray it off and it comes clean easily. I have purchased other mats that have been cheaper, but I wasted my money. I wished I would have just bought this one in the first place. I suspect it will last me a good long time. By the way, I do NOT put hot dishes into my sink; if I ever had a reason to, I would most certainly remove anything plastic in the sink before doing so. Which means I don't anticipate any problems with melting the plastic or leaving marks in my pretty sink mat. I will post a followup if I have any problems in the future, but for now, I'm very satisfied with this product.

Works great. I like the clear as it doesn’t look stained or dingy looking. Nice cushion for the sink and the plates.

Mats will stain easily. They’re clear for only a nano second. If you clean anything with tomato in the sink, say goodbye to the clear mat. From then on mat will look dingy. Can’t they come up with a non staining mat? Bet they can.

Recensione e foto aggiornata dopo un mese e a 2 acquisto: Il tappetino si presenta molto robusto e ben fatto. Penso sia uno dei migliori che ho trovato sul mercato. Gli angoli tagliati permettono di adattarlo benissimo a varie misure del lavello, per cui lo stesso formato riesco a metterlo sia nella vasca grande (40*35) che in quella più piccola (30*35), dove grazie al rialzo mi dà un ulteriore protezione in altezza. Si pulisce benissimo con spugna e sgassatore e non resta unto. Il cibo non rimane incastrato ma defluisce fino al tappo del lavello e inoltre è molto stabile e pesante, non si sposta!! A contatto con acqua calda non ha subito alcuna modificazione, rilascia solo un po' l'odore di plastica ma personalmente nulla di sgradevole comunque. Dopo 1 mesetto circa di utilizzo si è ingiallito, ma rimane cmq integro e pulito anche se non più trasparente (nella foto a confronto) e ne ho ordinato un altro per la seconda vasca. Personalmente do importanza alla robustezza e protezione che dà alle mie vasche, quindi il prodotto fa il suo dovere egregiamente! Soddisfatta per due volte della spedizione di Amazon, che anche in quarantena si distingue per velocissima e puntualità!

the mat turned pink and can't be cleaned back to clear even in the dishwasher. so we used it once and now it's unusable in my white sink.

Product come already with defect and stain that cannot be removed, they should have not even sell it if defected or with discount...I just keep because they were the last 2 pcs...quality seams ok but very upset that I got defect part

Perfecto para el proteger el fregadero. Lo estoy usando ya dos años y está perfecto. Sólo ha cambiado un poco el color porque el tomate frito lo mancha, pero sólo un tono que no tiene importancia. Por lo demás, aguanta muy bien el calor y los golpes y se limpia fácilmente. Además vale para cualquier tono de fregadero porque es transparente. La recomiendo.
